Wynken, Blyken, & Nod

Hello sweet friends...and Happy Thursday!! I have the sweetest little card for this week's challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! This week's challenge theme is . . .

Anything Goes!

Once again, my sweet and talented DT sister, Iulia, has given us a lovely "Optional" sketch! However, since this little card is a commission for very special lady in the UK, I decided to forego this week's optional sketch! (Sorry Iulia, next time . . . I promise!)

Now, this card requires a little background info . . . so bear with me. The story is a delightful one, I swear!! So . . . there is a lovely lady in the UK who is expecting a new baby boy quite soon. For her husband's birthday in April, she wanted to give him a card from their baby! (Don'tcha just love that?!)

Now, it seems that her husband is one of three boys . . . and, when they were growing up, their mother read "Wynken, Blyken, & Nod" to them at bedtime. Sadly, his mother passed away a year ago. So this is a little something to honor her husband's mother, celebrate their new baby, and celebrate her husband's birthday! I have to tell ya, I feel truly honored to be able to  play a small part in this family's story!! Here's a close-up of Mo Manning's version of Wynken, Blynken, & Nod . . .

I'd like to thank Mo for giving me the opportunity to work on this fun project . . .  and thanks, too, to my very talented friend, Jak Heath, whose card HERE was an inspiration for this card ! Now, you can find this adorable "Wynken, Blynken, & Nod" image HERE at Mo's online store. Here's a side view . . .

and another . . .

A peek at the inside . . .

And a close-up of the poem, which I found on the internet . . .

My card "recipe" . . .
Image printed on Cryogen White Paper
Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy, & Bashful Blue (Stampin' Up)
Digi DPs: "Just Plaid" (Bearly Mine Designs)
Cloud dies: Memory Box
Round & square plain & scalloped dies (Nestabilities)
Lattice punch: Martha Stewart
Edge "lace" border: Doohickey die (Magnolia)
Gingham ribbon: Stampin' Up
Stardust Stickles
Button, "safety pin" brads, & footprint stamp: my stash
Sentiment on front: computer generated
Copics & Prismacolor pencils

And, finally . . .

And that's my little DT project for Mo's this week. Hope you enjoyed looking! Be sure to pop on over to Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog HERE to check out the gorgeous projects created my talented Design Teamies!! Then, please join the fun this week at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! Just remember to use one (or more) of Mo Manning's images (you can find them in Mo's online stores HERE and HERE) . . . and follow this week's "Anything Goes" theme! Ooooh . . . and don't forget . . .  Mo is giving away one $5.00 shopping spree at her online stores for every 25 entries! (selected by Random.Org, of course).

Thanks so much for visiting...and as always, for your very kind comments! Hugs...until next time!

WOW what an amazing story Pat! I was looking at this image in the store and worried I wouldn't be able to do the shoe justice when coloring. You sure did. You couldn't have done a better job embellishing the card too. So many loely punched edges and die cuts. :-) It's fabulous and I'd say fits the bill in EVERY way for your friend. Hugs!
