"Summertime" at Mo's!

Hap-hap-happy Thursday, my lovelies!! Hope your week is going well! I've been busy . . . although I can't, for the life of me, figure out what I've been busy with! hehe! Laundry and cleaning and, oh, right, hanging out in my studio making art!! That last one is my favorite thing to be doing!! hehe! Hey . . . speaking of studios and making art . . . it's time for a new challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! The very lovely and talented Kat is our hostess this week . . . and she's chosen a fabulous theme . . .

"Summer's Coming"

And here's what I came up with . . .
OK . . . I know that most people think of swimming and playing outdoors in the sun when they think of Summer! Well . . . what about ladybugs? The come out in the Summer, right? hehe! Oh, alright . . . I confess, I just HAD to color this new image by Mo Manning!! I love her!! Here's a close-up . . .
Allow me to introduce "Baby Fairy Ladybug". Isn't she the cutest little thing you ever did see? You can find her HERE in Mo's online store.

Now, instead of a card, I decided to shake things up a bit and try something a little different. And, as luck would have it, I found this cute little red & white polka dot notebook while rummaging through my craft supplies recently! I just added a bit of black cardstock, some ribbon, and a few embellies . . . and VOILA!!
 My Project "Recipe" . . .
Image printed on Cryogen Matallic White paper
Black cardstock: Stampin' Up
Corner die: Whimsy
Ribbon, ladybugs, fabric flower, & pearls: My stash
White Frantage (I love this stuff!)
Copics & Colored pencils

And last, but not least . . .
So, there ya have it . . .a fun little notebook that's perfect as an address book or for jotting down "Summer" plans! Please stop on over at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog to check out the stunning "Summer" projects created by Kat and the rest of my talented DT sisters! Then, please join us for this week's challenge. It's simple really! Just pull out your craft supplies and at least one Mo Manning image and let the creating begin!!

Oh . . . and don't forget, Mo is awarding (selected at random) one $5.00 shopping spree at her online store for every 25 challenge participants!

Sooooo . . . that's it for me! Thanks so much for stopping by . . . and for leaving such sweet comments! Hugs . . .

We're doin' "Step Cards" at Sassy Cheryl's! Aaaacck!

Hey there, sweet friends!! Happy Tuesday, one and all! Let's get right down to business, shall we? It's time for another fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog!! And this week the very sweet and talented DT "Sassette" Miz Ann is our hostess!! And she chosen a theme that really, REALLY challenged me!! This week's theme is . . .

Step Cards!
(Aaacckk!!)

Soooo . . . I've been making cards for many years and, until now, have managed to avoid making a "Step Card"!! hehe! I have no idea why I've never made one . . . I think they're such fun to look at! Oh, now I remember!! Making a "Step Card" would necessitate my reading and following instructions of some kind!

Well, as you can probably guess, I don't like following instructions! I see myself as more of a free spirit!!  Go figure! But . . . for my sweet Miz Ann, I found a tutorial by Beate Johns at Splitcoast Stampers HERE and actually followed the instructions! But, wait! Before I show you my card, I want to show you what my worktable looked like during what I like to call my "FIRST EVER Step Card" experience!
Notice the Bloody Mary at the right! hehe!!

OK . . . onto my card!!
Ohhhhh how I miss the beach!! Now, more than ever!! And would you just look at Sassy Sally, smugly lounging in her fancy inner tube? Arrggh! I am green with envy!! Pea green, I tell ya!!
This darling image is called  "Lazy Afternoon" and is available HERE at Sassy Cheryl's! Here's a view from the other side . . .
My card "recipe" . . .
Image printed onto Cryogen Metallic White cardstock
Bashful Blue & Certainly Celery cardstock: Stampin' Up
DPs: "Barefoot Bliss" by Bo Bunny
Labels 2 die: Spellbinders Nestabilities
Sentiment: Whimsy
Clouds & wave dies: Memory Box
Sun stamp: Magnolia
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon: The Ribbon Girl
Safety pin, pearl, flip-flop punch, & other embellies: My stash
Colored with Copic & Shin Han markers & Colored Pencils

Now, since this is my first ever "Step Card", I wasn't quite sure what to do with the inside . . . especially since I can't consider my card finished until I've decorated the inside! So, I just covered everything I could with DPs! Here's a peek at the inside . . .
And . . . again, having never made one of these (have I mentioned that this is my FIRST EVER Step Card?! hehe!) , I wasn't quite sure what to do about an "artsy" photo!! So . . . this one was taken from kind of a weird angle which I'll call "artsy"! . . .
Soooo . . . be honest . . . how'd I do on my FIRST EVER "Step Card"? Not too bad, eh? I am actually rather pleased with the results! I'm not sure I'll make another anytime soon . . . but I must admit, it was kind of fun!! (Of course, the Bloody Mary helped! hehe!) Now please pop on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog to take a peek at what our clever Miz Ann and the rest of my talented DT sisters have created for your viewing pleasure! Then, grab your craft supplies and at least one Sassy Cheryl image and join us for this week's "Step Card" challenge! Remember . . .

One lucky participant, selected at random, will win . . .
TWO Sassy Cheryl Digi Images!

We're all in "stitches" this week at Sassy Cheryl's!

Hello, hello, hello! And a very happy Tuesday to you all!! Are ya ready for another fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog?!! Well . . . this week we have the very lovely and talented Miz Judy as our hostess!! And she chosen a very cool theme  . . .

Stitch Away!
(Stitches . . . real or faux!)

Well, of course I chose the "faux stitching" option! haha! I may have to sell my sewing machine! Especially now that I've discovered STAMPS that simulate stitches! What? Don't you remember last week when I said those "yoyo" flowers were the extent of my sewing abilities?! LOL!! OK . . . what'cha think?
Cool, huh?!! Seriously . . . aren't those "stitches" fantabulous?!! And I didn't even have to figure out how to thread that little sewing machine! hehehe! Sooooo . . . do you recognize these little cuties? Why, it's Noah and Sally!! And, get this . . . these are NOT digi images!! They're Sassy Cheryl's rubber stamps!! I "masked" the two stamps so they could be playing together! Once again, I just couldn't decide which to use, so I used them both!! Here's a close-up . . .
I have to tell ya, these new rubber stamps are AWESOME!! They come attached to foam cling so that all you need to do is trim them, peel off the backing, attach to an acrylic block, ink, and stamp!! The stamps themselves are deeply etched . . . and give a crisp, clean image!! I LOVE 'EM!! Oh oh oh . . . and get this . . . the set comes with a plasticized card on which to mount the stamps for storage!! Yikes!! I am beyond delighted!! Oops . . . I nearly forgot to tell you . . . this stamp set is called "We're All Ears" and is available HERE at Sassy Cheryl's! Here's a bit of a side view . . .

Red, White, & Blue at Mo's!

Greetings . . . and happy Thursday, my darlings!! Are you ready for a new challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog? I know I am!! I tell ya, I do love Thursdays!! Now . . . did you know that tomorrow (May 17th) is Norwegian National Day? It's true!!
And, since our talented DT sister, Tine, (who lives in Norway) is our hostess this week, she's chosen Norway's flag colors for our challenge theme . . .

"Red, White, & Blue"

So, you see . . . not only do you get to see cards here . . . you get information about current affairs!! Thanks to Tine, that is!! So . . . red, white, & blue it is . . . (well, there's a teensy bit of yellow in my card this week . . . try to ignore those parts! hehe!) What'cha think?
So . . . here's the deal . . . I've loved this adorable Mo Manning image since it first came out! But I had no idea what kind of card I could make with it . . . until my eldest son told me recently that he's become a regular "Mr. Fixit"!! Apparently he's doing all kinds of fancy schmancy things in his house . . . painting, grouting, plumbing, etc.!! Why oh why doesn't he come stay with his mama for a while? I have plenty of fun home repairs to keep him busy . . . for at least a couple of weeks!! hehe!! Alas . . . I digress . . . back to my card!! Soooooo . . . I decided this little cutie would be perfect for a birthday card for Andy!! Here's a close-up . . .
This little guy is called "Fixer (boy)" and is available HERE in Mo's online store. This darling image is also available as a girl HERE! Here's my card from the side. . . sort of . . .

We're doin' "Lace & Handmade Flowers" at Sassy Cheryl's!

Well, well, well! Here it is . . . another fabulous Tuesday!! Why fabulous, you ask? Well . . . for lots of reasons . . . health and happiness and beautiful weather . . . oh, yeah . . . and because it's time for super-de-duper challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog?!!  Wheet whoo! My sweet friend and talented (yet cleverly sassy) Cathy (hey . . . Sassy Cathy . . . that has a nice ring to it, huh?) is our hostess this week!! And Miz Cathy would like to see us make something with  . . .

Lace & Handmade Flowers!

So . . . I decided to try something a bit different!! Brace yourselves!! You are about to witness the full extent of my "sewing" abilities!! hehe! Wait for it . . . .
Fabric Flowers!! Cool, huh?!! OK . . . so . . . allow me to introduce you to two of Sassy Cheryl's newest digi images!! Meet "Maddie and her Ladybug" AND "Max and his Ladybug"!! I just couldn't decide which of these two sweethearts to color up this week . . . so I did what any indecisive person would do! I used them BOTH! hehe!! I actually merged these two cutie patooties . . . and erased the ladybugs! Why? Well . . . not because I don't love ladybugs. . . 'cuz I love them plenty!! I just thought that Maddie and Max - sans ladybugs - look like they're sharing some delicious gossip!! Here's a close-up . . .
I have to tell ya, I just love the "vintage-y" look of these new images!! You can find them HERE and HERE in the "New" section of Sassy Cheryl's store!! Now . . . since Maddie and Max look kinda vintage-y to me, I decided to go with a totally "RETRO" feel with this card!! Lime green and teal blue . . . how fabulously retro is that?! And, can ya believe it? I found fabric to match! So . . . retro flowers too! hehe! Here's a bit of a side view . . .
  My card "recipe" . . .

A peek at the inside . . .
I know . . . kinda bright, huh? Well . . . everything was bright and psychedelic in the 60's! hehe!! Oh . . . and since this is just an "anything" card, I thought this sentiment would be kinda fun . . .
It pretty much says it all, right? Oh . . . and . . . let's not forget the "artsy" view . . .
So, there ya have it!! Lace & handmade flowers . . . just for my sweet - and very sassy - Cathy!! Now do skip on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog to take a peek at what my talented DT sistahs have been up to this week!! Then, grab your craft supplies and at least one Sassy Cheryl image and join us for this week's "Lace & Handmade Flowers" challenge! Remember . . .

One lucky participant, selected at random, will win . . .

Oh . . . and  one more super cool thing...
