The Sugar Bowl turns TWO!!

Hi sweeties!! Can you believe it...the Sugar Bowl Challenge Blog is celebrating its SECOND birthday!! YIKES!! Well, I can tell you that, since I've discovered Sugar Nellie and the Sugar Bowl not quite a year ago, I've had the best time shopping for and crafting with the many, many fabby Sugar Nellie images!! My faves? Hmmm...hard to say...I really do love 'em all!! Here's one of my fave Sugar Nellie images, tho...she's called "Fairy Tale"...and she's the brainchild of Krista Smith...and just one of the Simply Sassy Collection available at Funky Kits HERE! I love, love, LOVE this little lady's big beautiful GREEN eyes...and that nose and those lips...too dang cute, don'tcha think!!

So our challenge this time is to make a card that is NOT Christmas-related...incorporates some embossing...and follows this fabby sketch by our very own DT Sweetie, Marlene.

Well...I decided to turn Marlene's sketch on its side...and here's what I came up with...

Here are a couple of side views...

And a peek at the inside...

Here's a close-up of the sentiment...

And here are the Copics I used to color this sassy little darlin'...

Now...here's the best part...birthday celebrations should include birthday presents...and a SECOND birthday celebration should have TWO birthday presents!! Yes...that's right!! There will be not one, but TWO winners chosen at random...each prize contains Nestabilities and Sugar Nellie stamps valued at more than 50 pounds (which is a whole bunch of US dollars!!!) Whoooohoooo!

OK...whatcha waitin' for? Pop on over to to the Sugar Bowl Challenge Blog HERE and take a look at the beautiful cards made by my fellow DT Sweeties...then get busy! You've got TWO weeks to submit your works of art for "Challenge 50". Remember to use at least one of your fave Sugar Nellie images...follow Marlene's clever sketch...and, if the spirit moves ya, incorporate some kind of embossed component! Now, sweet friends, let the crafting begin!!!!

Maggie Mae...

Hi again...just when you thought I was done posting Christmas Cards!!! WRONG!! hehehe!! Here's the card I made for my sister, Dee. You remember her...she's the "peeker"...therefore I had to wait until she received the card before I could post it on my blog. bwahahahaha!! This is actually one of Mo Manning's images...and when I spotted it in her online store, I snagged it immediately...because Dee's puppy, Maggie Mae is a tiny little Lhasa Apso...who looks just like this little puppy!! I believe she even has a pink sweater and probably a pink hat to match!

So, here it is...my absolute, final, very last Christmas Card of 2010!! I may have to start making cards for Christmas 2011 after the first of the year...we'll see!

An "artsy" view...

And a peek at the inside...

That's it for me today...3 posts...why, that's practically obscene!! LOL!! I'm heading to bed to catch up on some zzzzzzzzz's so I can be all perky tomorrow at work! Thanks so much for visiting...see you sooooooooon.

Cuppa tea?

Hi sweet friends...I'm gearing up to go back to work tomorrow so I wanted to get a couple of cards posted before I head back to the office!! I've had a productive day...I shoveled and swept the sidewalk & driveway...and then sprinkled salt stuff all over the place to keep ice from forming. I sure don't need to be wiping out when I wander out to get the mail, now, do I?!! hehehe! Sooooooo...here's a little card I made this afternoon while DH was watching TV. You may recognize this image...it's from Lili of the Valley...and I must say, their images are some of my faves!!

Here are a couple of side views...

As you can see, I'm back to my fave pink & green...with cardstock from Stampin Up (Certainly Celery & Pretty in Pink). DPs are from GCD studios. I used round and round scallop nestabilities...and Magnolia punches (label & edge). Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps...and flowers, ribbon, pearls, and charm are all from my stash!!

I used Copic Sketch markers: E21, 00, 000, 0000 (skin) & R20 (cheeks). Below are the rest of the Copics I used...I nearly lost track, markers were flying fast and furious!! LOL!! Oh...I also used At You Spica "Clear"...and spritzed some Frost Sheer Shimmerz on the flowers!!

I quite like the end result...and I hope you do too. I'm going to enter this little card into the Thursday Challenge #77 at LOTV HERE. Dena has given us a fun sketch to follow...and follow it I did!! I'm good like that...sometimes! LOL!

Thank you so much for stopping by for a peek...and for all of your sweet comments that truly make my day!! Take care, friends...see you soon.

Baby girls are such fun!!

Hello friends...in case you haven't heard, Richmond,VA had a White Christmas...as did much of the eastern part of the United States!! Now, it's not at all uncommon for my sister in Minnesota to have a White Christmas...but c'mon, we live in Richmond, VA...which is considered by some to be the SOUTH!! LOL! I must say, though, it's beautiful!!! I didn't even mind donning hat, gloves, parka, & boots to go out and shovel!!

I've taken a little time to read and relax this weekend...and even did a wee bit of crafting and online craft supply shopping!! A friend asked if I'd make a baby girl card for her to give to another friend...my response, "no problemo!!!" hehe! I love making little girl cards. For this one I chose to go a little non-traditional, though...instead of pink or pastels, I chose red!! The DPs are from DCWV - Nana's Nursery collection. I think they're just yummy, don't you?!! The image is from Belles 'n Whistles...I love her pouting mouth and chubby cheeks!!

And a close-up...

Here are a couple of side views...

And one of the inside.

The rest of my card recipe goes something like this:
Cardstock: Real Red (SU)
Ink: Real Red (SU) & Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Sentiment: LOTV
Punches: Doohickey Tag (Magnolia)and Martha Stewart border punch
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts

I've decided to enter this little darlin' into Challenge #144 at Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog HERE. Lisa has submitted a clever sketch...I took the liberty of making my card with circles rather than squares...but if you look closely, you'll see that I did, indeed, follow Lisa's sketch!! :-) So that's my story...I hope my friend likes this little card...and thank you all for stopping by for a visit. Have a safe and warm week. {{{hugs}}}....

Hi friends...yep, it's me again!! hehehe! Here's a little card that I just love!! I used one of Mo Manning's uber-adorable digi images called "Baby Fairy Flora". Isn't she just too, too darling?!! I swear, why did it take me sooooooo long to overcome my fear of digi images?!! Well, kiddos, ain't no going back for me now!! hahaha! Fabulous images and instant gratification too...what could be better than that?! So, here's little Flora...I'm entering her in Mos DP2 Challenge HERE. This week's theme: Fantasies and Fairies!

A couple of side views...You can really appreciate the Pixie Dust in the second pic!

Winter Wonderland...

Hi sweet friends!! Thank you sooooooo much for stopping by for a visit!! I can't believe it's time for another challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog!! It seems like just last week that we had the "pink, blue, & green" challenge!! Oh wait...it WAS just last week!! Whew! I feel better now that I figured that out. I know time flies as we get older, but I really was afraid I'd fallen asleep and lost an entire week!! So...here's the deal...we're having this challenge a week early (Dec. 14th)...and it ends on Jan. 10th! That'll give us all a little extra time to craft AND celebrate the holidays with family and friends!!

This challenge is an "Inspiration Challenge". We have a beautiful photo submitted by Chrissy Le for our inspiration. Here it is...

Be creative and see what comes! I was struck by the serenity and peace of the falling snow...so that's what I went with. Tilda sitting on her sled...with glittery snow and snowflakes here, there, and everywhere!!

Here are a couple of side-views...

And, of course, an "artsy" shot...

Thanks so much...

Hi friends...just a quick post because I have to head off to work momentarily! I am so ready for the weekend...day after tomorrow...YAY!! As some of you know, my DH tore his achilles tendon and had to have it surgically repaired last week. So, needless to say, he's not able to go back to work quite yet. Anyway...his boss and colleagues had an entire dinner from "Heavenly Ham" delivered to us on Monday...sooooooo yummy!! So I made this little card for him to send them just to say "thanks".

It's probably the simplest card I've made ever...no frill or frou frous! Just "masculine" and all business...sort of!! I used a delightful little Mo Manning image...this little guy doesn't have his leg in a cast, but he's looking pretty sad to be feeling under the weather...so I thought it would work.

I'm actually entering this card in Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge HERE. The theme is "Winter Wonderland"...but, seriously, this seems to be my "Winter Wonderland" reality these days. No snow in Richmond, VA yet...we won't be doing much holiday decorating this year...and thank goodness there's online shopping! hehehe!! Oh, wait...I did buy a 19" PINK Christmas Tree...so I'll have to take a pic of that to show you this weekend! LOL!! See? I'm getting into the holiday spirit!!

Uh oh...gotta run. Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit...and for your very sweet comments. They really DO make my day!! Take care...stay warm...and be safe!!
