Hey there, sweet friends!! You know how much I love my Sugar Nellie Monday, right? And I love today's Monday (hehe!) even more than usual! Why? Well . . . because I get to kick off a full 2 weeks of Sugar Nellie stamps by the amazing UK artist, Leanne Ellis! And I do love Leanne Ellis!!
So, without further ado . . . here's my new Sugar Nellie project . . .

And, my fave color combo too . . . peach & green!! Delicious, huh?!

Stitch . . . and I don't even sew!

Happy Monday, my darlings!! Can you believe that we're more than halfway through April already? I think we skipped Spring and jumped right into Summer here in Virginia! But, I swear, I'm not complaining! My sister, who lives in Minnesota, just had 4 inches of snow the other day!! Yikes! I almost made a Christmas card just to tease her about the snow . . . but then I decided I just couldn't do it! Making Christmas cards in April just seems unnatural . . . at least to me, anyways!!

So . . . I have a new Sugar Nellie DT card to share with you . . . and I have to say, I rather like how it turned out! What'cha think?
This quirky little image is from the Leanne Ellis collection of Sugar Nellie stamps. She's called "Stitch" (well, at least I think she's a "she", but I can't really be sure!) . . . and is available HERE at Funky Kits. What fun, huh? The ironic thing about me making a card like this is that I do NOT sew! hehe! In fact, my little Janome sewing machine is still safely sealed in the box (I got it 2 years ago!) What? I'm protecting it from dust!! LOL!! Ahem . . . sorry . . . I digress! As I was saying . . . I don't sew . . . but I sure love this image! It's "sew" fun and funky!! And I honestly do believe that people who sew are, indeed, artists!! Here's a close-up . . .
I did some serious digging into my "stash" of embellies for this one!! I think I may have added just about everything but the kitchen sink!! Here's kind of a side view . . .
I want to give a "shout out" to my friend Dena (from Dena's Stamping Corner)! I totally "lifted" her idea of pinning a torn piece of DP with teensy safety pins!! I love the look! Thanks girlfriend!!

My card "recipe" . . .
Image inked onto Cryogen Metallic White cardstock
So Saffron cardstock: Stampin' up

Pearls, raffia ribbon, & pins: My stash
Ticket sentiment & measuring tape ribbon: Tim Holtz
Inside sentiment: Stampin' Up
Fauz stitching stamp: LOTV
Colored with Copics & Colored pencils

A peek at the inside . . .

And, the "artsy" view . . .
I sure enjoyed creating this funky little card!! Those of you who know me know that I like to shake things up now and again! hehe! And I think I did just that with this week's card!! Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I really hope you've enjoyed looking at my newest Sugar Nellie project! I'll be back tomorrow with another new card!! Seen you then, I hope!! Until then. . . hugssssss!

Just another "manic" Monday!!

Do you remember that song?? "Just another manic Monday . . . wish it were Sunday . . . that's my fun day . . . . " For some reason, it's stuck in my brain and I've been humming it for hours. So . . . I decided I'd mention it and see if I could get you to start humming it too! Then we could do a little harmony! hehe! Seriously . . . does anyone know who sang it?? 'Cuz I can't, for the life of me, remember!!

Oh wait . . . I'm not here to talk about songs . . . I'm here to show you my latest Sugar Nellie DT project!! What'cha think?
This quirky image is another one from Leanne Ellis for Sugar Nellie! It's called "Belle Flower" and is available HERE at Funky Kits. Here's a close-up . . .
Once again, I've used Tim Holtz Distress Inks! I'm still learning . . . by trial and error, I'm afraid! hehe! But, I feel like I'm getting better!! And I just think these Leanne Ellis images are perfect for Distress Inks . . . since they look sort of "vintage-y"! Here's a bit of a side view . . .
My card "recipe" . . .

Sooooo . . . rather than coloring this quirky image with my trusty Copic Sketch Markers, I decided to pull out my Tim Holtz Distress Inks! I've been having such fun playing with DIs after ignoring them for more than two years!! I certainly need lots of practice . . . but, I have to admit, I kinda like how this turned out! Here's a bit of a side view . . .

Dare to be "Unique" . . .

Happy Monday, my sweet friends!! Did'ja have a great weekend? I sure hope you're keeping warm and dry! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those folks in New England who have been hammered with cold and snow these past couple of days! Fortunately the weather missed us completely! It's been cool and clear here in Richmond, VA!! I swear, this may be the perfect climate . . . not too cold and not too hot . . . and snow only once or twice each year!! I'm so spoiled!! hehe!!

But, enough about the weather!! I have a new Sugar Nellie DT project to share with you . . .
This fun and rather quirky image is from the Leanne Ellis Collection of Sugar Nellie rubber stamps! It's called "Be One Traveler" and is currently on order HERE at Funky Kits. Here's a close-up . . .
I just love Leanne Ellis stamps. They really are such fun to color!! Plus, all of the squiggly doodles around the image are already there!! (A good thing for me since, when I try to make squiggly doodle lines, they look like something I drew with my left foot! sigh! hehe!) Here's a bit of a side view . . .
My card "recipe" . . .

"Time Flies" . . . Sugar Nellie DT Monday

Hey there all you "sugar" lovers!! I'm here with my bi-monthly Sugar Nellie DT card . . . and I have to say, I am continually shocked at how quickly time seems to be passing by! So, for today's card I used that very theme . . . Time Flies!

This whimsical image is from the "Leanne Ellis" collection of Sugar Nellie stamps! Coincidentally, this image is called "Time Flies" . . . and is available HERE at Funky Kits. Oh, ooooh . . . I just checked . . . it's available now at a discounted price! How cool is that?!

I decided to create a card with plenty of fun and funky elements and lots of layers!! I think I achieved that goal! This little "masterpiece" is definitely NOT "clean and simple", now, is it?! hehehe!

I used some clear acrylic stamps from my stash for the sentiments. I can tell you, while I love that I can position them correctly, I just don't care for the way the stamped image comes out. So, once I used them, they landed in the bin! aacck! I also used some fun "grunge" stamps from Lili of the Valley! Love these! Oh . . . and that flower is actually blue . . . rather than lavender as it appears in these photos!

Here's my card "recipe" . . .
Cardstock by DCWV
DPs: Maja Designs "Vintage Summer" (Thanks to my sweet Elaine!)
Resin corner & tag w/envelope: Melissa Frances
 Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Lace & embellishments: My stash
Copics & Prismacolor pencils

. . . a peek at the inside . . .

And, of course, the "artsy" angle . . .

Well, that's it for me! Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my latest Sugar Nellie DT card! And thanks, as always, for your sweet comments! Until next time . . . mwahhh!!

Sympathy . . .

Hello my sweet friends. Sympathy cards are never easy to create . . . at least they're not easy for me. A couple of week's ago, a close friend of ours lost his father. I've been thinking about making a sympathy card, but just struggled and struggled. But, then, the inspiration came and here it is . . . today's Sugar Nellie DT card!

This sweet little Sugar Nellie image is "Dreamer" from the very talented artist, Leanne Ellis. You can find her HERE at Funky Kits.

I decided to do a monochromatic card, with just a pop of red . . . red and black and white just seem so elegant, don't you think?

My card "recipe" . . .
Whisper White and Basic Black Cardstock: Stampin' Up
DPs: "Enchanted" by Bo Bunny
Dies: Cheery Lynn Designs
Scroll "doohickey" die: Magnolia
Sentiments: Love & Sympathy by Stampin' Up
Roses: Wild Orchid Crafts
Copics & Prismacolor pencils

. . . a peek at the inside. . .

. . . and a close-up of the sentiment . . .

And finally . . .

I've decided to enter this beauty into this fortnight's Wild Orchid's Challenge #46 . . .
"Things with Wings" . . .

And that's it for me. Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my latest Sugar Nellie DT card! Have a great week! Hugs . . . until next time!

Funday Monday...

Happy Monday, my lovelies! And welcome, once again, to my Sugar Nellie DT post! I'm gearing up for a busy week! Here's a hint...gobble gobble gobble!! Yep...getting ready for a houseful for Thanksgiving dinner...including my amazzzzingly cool 92 year-old mother-in-law! She could very well be the coolest mom and Nana in the entire world!! I'm so blessed...in so many ways!! I hope my dinner guests are able to say they're blessed after having to eat my cooking! bwahahaha! My plan is to keep the wine flowing so they won't necessarily notice the food! LOL!! OK...enough turkey talk...let's talk about my newest Sugar Nellie card, shall we?

So...here's the deal...I decided to finally ink up this fabulous Leanne Ellis stamp (I've had it for more than a year! arrggh!!) "Faraway Thoughts" was my very FIRST Leanne Ellis stamp...available HERE at Funky Kits. I have to tell ya, I just love her...and have no idea why it took me sooooo long to ink her up!! She looks so dreamy and whimsical...so I decided she definitely would want a little pink hair! LOL!!

The DPs are from Prima's "Sparkling Spring" collection...the cardstock (Blushing Bride & Bashful Blue) came from Stampin' Up... & the green CS is from the Pastel Cardstock Collection by DCWV. The yummy flower thingie is from my local craft store...and the pearls are from Mikimoto, of course!! (Not really...just checking to see if you're paying attention!)

Here are the Copics & Prismacolor pencils used to color this sweetheart....

E21, 00, 000, 0000 (skin) w/peach & light peach pencils
R20 (cheeks) w/pink pencil
R83, 81, RV10, 000 (hair) w/pink pencil
E23, 21, 51, 50 (boat) w/dark brown pencil
G24, 21, 20 (greens) w/dark green pencil
B91, 00, 000, 0000 (blues) w/light cerulean blue pencil
YR21, 20, 000, 0000 (yellows) w/jasmine pencil
BG0000 (shadow)

And...one last view...the "artsy fartsy" one!

OK...that's it for me! Thank you soooooo much for stopping by!! Big huggggggsssss...until next time...
