And here we are having dinner before going to the theater. I'm the one on your right in desperate need of a haircut! (Notice the bottles of wine behind us! All I can say is . . . delish!)
Okey dokey . . . now that I've had my little "getaway," I need to get back to "work" 'cuz it's time for another fun challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! This week's challenge theme is . . .
"Layering"
So here's the deal . . . my sister, Dee, asked me to make a card for a friend of hers who is former military and retiring from her job with the Veteran's Administration. Dee requested "fatigue" paper . . . and, as luck would have it, I actually had some!! Amaaaazing!! So, here's what I came up with . . .
For this week's card, I decided to make a "twisted easel card" with one of Mo Manning's little "soldiers"! This is "Soldier Girl" and is available HERE in Mo's online store. This image is also available as "Soldier Boy" HERE. Instead of paper piecing, I decided to color her uniform with Copics . . . and just used lots of colors dotted on here and there. I kinda like how it turned out! Here's a close-up . . .
And a bit of a side view . . .
My card "recipe" . . .
Image printed on Cryogen "metallic" cardstock
Chocolate Chip and River Rock cardstock: Stampin' Up
Chocolate Chip ribbon: Stampin' Up
DPs: "Just Chillin'" from Making Memories
"Happy Retirement" sentiment: Stampin' Up
Other sentiments: Computer-generated
Buttons, star, clip: my stash
Copics
And finally . . .
So, that's what I've been up to!! Now, please be sure to pop on over to Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog HERE to check out the gorgeous projects created by my talented Design Teamies! Then, please join the fun this week at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! Just remember to use one (or more) of Mo Manning's images (you can find them in Mo's online stores HERE and HERE). Oooh . . . and don't forget . . . Mo is giving away one $5.00 voucher at her online stores for every 25 entries! (selected by Random.Org, of course).
Thanks so much for stopping by . . . and, as always, thanks for your kind comments! Until next time . . . .
