Let's Stump Sassy Cheryl!!

Hello my sweet friends!! So...I just have to tell ya, I had the best time in Las Vegas this past week!! My handsome hubby surprised me with tickets to see Rod Stewart! Ol' Rod is in his mid- to late-60s...and he's still HOT!! Yep...DH and I had the best time in Vegas...and now we're home safe and sound...gearing up for Thanksgiving next week! YIKES!!!! But first...

We've got a bit of "sassiness" happening over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog this week! It seems that our very own Sassy Cheryl actually believes that she can tell which one of her DT members created a card without even looking at the watermark. Really, Cheryl? REALLY??? So.....this week, the Sassy DT ladies are putting Miz Cheryl to the test! We've created these fabby cards WITHOUT watermarks! hehehe!

And...here's a close-up of just one of this week's Sassy Cheryl's DT's cards. Now...I ask you..."Is this card one of mine?" Hmmmmm! Maybe...or...maybe not? What'cha think?!

Now...here's the fun part!! YOU get to play along in this week's super fun challenge! Here's how...
  1. Make a card, tag, or paper project and link to the cute Frog Link thingie.
  2. Leave a comment on Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog HERE saying whether you think Sassy Cheryl will guess all of the designers' cards correctly.
  3. If you say 'yes' and she actually guesses correctly...then you get credit for a second entry in our random drawing. That's a "two for one" deal!!
  4. If you think Sassy Cheryl is going to "miss the mark" and will guess incorrectly, just say so in your comment!
Fun  and simple, huh? And soooooo worth playing along! All you have to do is say "yes" or"no" in the comment section at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog. If you guess correctly, and play along in our challenge, you might just be the lucky random winner of a $5.00 gift certificate to Sassy Cheryl's Digi Online Store ...in addition to our regular random pick from challenge entries! Yep...that's right...you get TWO chances to win!! Check out all the details at our challenge blog HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by, my lovelies!! Now...let the Sassy Crafting and "guessing" COMMENCE!!

Fancy Folds at Mo's!

Hey there, my sweet friends! Well...I'm back from visiting the kids and grandkiddos in AZ...and let me tell ya, I'm still exhausted!! hehehe!! But not too exhausted! In fact, I'm pretty jazzed about this week's challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! Why? Well...your hostess for this week's challenge is none other than yours truly! hehehe! And I've chosen as our challenge theme...

Fancy Folds

So, since I'm well into my Christmas card-making-mode, I selected this adorable little Mo Manning image called "Noelle Bearing Gifts"... you can find her HERE at Mo's online store. My clever DT sistah, Sheila, taught me how to print my images a bit lighter, giving a "watercolor" effect...which, I am really liking alot! Thanks Sheila, you da bomb, girlfriend!

As you can see, my "fancy fold" is actually a "Criss Cross" card! I think it qualifies as a "fancy fold"...hey, wait a minute...I'm hostess this week...and I say it qualifies! hehehe!!

Here's my card "recipe"...
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink & Baja Breeze (Stampin' Up)
DPs: My Mind's Eye "Wonderful Winter"
Rick-rack & brad: my stash
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Nestabilities dies: oval & scalloped oval
Punches: Martha Stewart
Liquid Applique
Polar White Flower Soft
Copics & Prismacolor pencils (too numerous to mention)

Okey dokey...it's time for you to head on over to Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog HERE so you can check out the gorgeous projects by my talented DT sisters! Then, we'd love for you to make your own Mo Manning challenge project and join the fun!! Just remember to use one (or more) of Mo Manning's images (you can find them in Mo's online stores HERE and HERE)! One lucky participant (chosen at random, of course) will receive a $5.00 shopping spree at Mo's online store.

And...that's it for me. Thanks so much for stopping by...and for leaving such kind comments! Big hugs...until next time....

"Emboss It" at Sassy Cheryl's!

Looking for my newest Magnolia project? Please scroll down....

Hey there my sweet friends!! Thanks to the magic of the internet and Blogger, as you read this post, I am jetting to Las Vegas, Nevada!! Yep...it's true, last week I was in Arizona...this week, I'm heading back to the desert to bake in the sun and read my trashy novel while my sweet hubby attends a medical conference!!  Hehehe! I'm becoming quite the jet setter in my old age, aren't I?!!

So...without further rambling (which, in case you hadn't noticed, I have a tendency to do!), let's get to this week's fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's!! Our theme this week is...

"Emboss It"

Sooooo... I decided to make a little "Christmas" card using an adorable Sassy Cheryl digi called "Going to see the Star." Ta-daaaaa...Clean and Simple? Getting closer, right?!

Here's my card "recipe"...

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Bravo Burgundy (Stampin' Up)
Embossing folders: Cuttlebug
Sentiment & Ticket Die: Whimsy
Ribbon & Gold baubles: my stash
Gold filagree corners & Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Inside sentiment: (SU)
Swirl dies: Nestabilities
Snowflake punch: Martha Stewart
Copics & Prismacolor pencils
Liquid Applique
Stickles
MS Coarse Glitter

I have to admit, I freaked out just a little when I realized that I hadn't used DPs on the front! Yikes!! But, no worries...I used DPs from Bo Bunny's Midnight Frost collection on the inside!! hehehe!

And...your fave "ahhhtsy fahhhhtsy" view...

And  now it's time to pop on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog to check out all the fabulous "Embossed" creations by my very talented and always "sassy" DT sistahs!!  Then, we'd love for you to come join the fun! Just remember to follow this week's "Emboss It" theme. You don't even have to use a Sassy Cheryl image...tho we love when you do!! Oh, and...don't forget to link your finished project to this week's challenge...because one lucky participant (selected at random) will win a $5.00 digi credit to spend at Sassy Cheryl's Digis Online Store HERE!!

Thanks for visiting!! And...for your kind comments! Have a fantastic week! I'm off to try my luck at the penny slots! hehehe! Wish me luck!! Mwahhhhh!

It's the SECOND Tuesday already?

Seriously?! How did that happen?! Clearly I've lost a full week somewhere along the way!! Fortunately, my DT sistahs over at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog are keeping me in line...and I was up half the night coloring! hehehe! Good thing too, since I'm the "hostess" for this month's challenges! la le la de da!! Okey dokey, my lovelies...are ya ready?! For this month's Magnolia-licious Color Challenge, I've chosen...

Silver & Blue

And here's a gorgeous photo for inspiration! (Hmmm...Christmas is coming, right?! LOL!)

Pretty stunning, huh?! But...where are the diamonds? hehehe! So...without further ado, here's my card...

Isn't this the most adorable little Tilda? She's called "Ice Tilda" and is currently on re-order at Magnolia-licious. I masked her so that I could add the Winter Fence...which Diana has as a Mini HERE! I love the snow on the fence...it's Liquid Applique! And the snow on the ground is, of course, Polar White Flower Soft mixed with a little coarse glitter from that clever little Martha Stewart!

Oh...I stamped these images with Memento Rich Cocoa ink rather than Tuxedo Black...it just gives it a softer look!  Here's the rest of my Card "Recipe"...

Cardstock: Creamy Caramel  & Baja Breeze (Stampin' Up)
DPs: Bo Bunny's Snowfall Collection
Ribbon & diamonds: my stash
Flowers & metal filagree corners: Wild Orchid Crafts
Nestabilities circle & scalloped circle dies
MS winter twig punch
Sentiment: Whimsy

And, in case you hadn't noticed, I slathered silver Stickles over anything that wasn't crawling away from me! It seemed like a brilliant idea at 3:00 a.m., trust me!! hehehehe!!

Copics & Prismacolor pencils used...

E21, 00, 000, 0000 w/Peach & Light Peach pencils (skin)
R20 w/Nectar pencil (cheeks)
E29, 27, 25, 23, YR21 w/Sienna Brown pencil (hair & fence)
B97, 95, 93, 91 000 w/Indigo Blue pencil (blues)
BG0000 (highlights)

I kept the inside pretty simple...except for a few more "diamonds"!! bwahahaha!!

And...last, but certainly not least...

Alrighty then...now it's time for you to pop on over to Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and feast your eyes on the gorgeous creations by my uber talented DT sistahs! And...that's it for me!! Thanks so much for stopping by...and for your sweet comments! Now...off you go...let the craftin' begin!! Great big "Maggie" hugsssssssssss...until next time!

Sugar Nellie Monday...

Happy Monday, my lovelies! And welcome, once again, to my Sugar Nellie DT post! Just a quick update on my recent trip to Arizona to visit my 3 fabulous kids and 5 delightful grandkiddos! I had THE BEST time...I have no idea where they all get their energy! hehehe!! Here's a pic of Ava & Mia! Four year-old Mia told me that, when you turn 16, you get a boyfriend AND a car!! Seriously? Hmmmm...I wonder if her parents are on board with that?!

And Sophia, Emma, and Brody...playing with Play-doh after a successful shopping trip with gramma!

Unfortunately, in addition to some wonderful memories and fun photos...and some very cool craft supplies, I also brought back a nasty case of viral tonsillitis! Seriously?! Isn't that something that only kids get? Arrgghh! No worries, tho...I'm on the mend...gearing up for a trip to Las Vegas this week with my handsome hubby!! I plan on sitting by the pool with my trashy novel...hoping the sun will bake this virus right out of me!

So...enough about my travels and my goofy case of tonsillitis...let's talk about my newest Sugar Nellie card....

As you know, I've been frantically making Winter Holiday cards...and for this one I chose some rather traditional Christmas colors...green & red! I also inked up a 2010 Sugar Nellie stamp that I've had for more than a year! Yep...this is the first time it's touched an ink pad! Shame on me, right?!! This darling stamp is called "Kiss me Quick" and is from Sugar Nellie's "Home Grown" collection...available HERE at Funky Kits. I used Memento London Fog ink...rather than Tuxedo Black...to give the image a slightly "softer" look.

Here's my card "recipe"...
DPs: Authentique's "Wonder" collection
Cardstock: Real Red & Hunter Green (Stampin' Up)
Ink: Real Red (SU)
Ribbon: Real Red (SU)
Dies: Rectangle & circle (Nestabilities), Tags & fancy circle (Marianne's Creatables) - Ivy (Memory Box)
Sentiment: Lili of the Valley
Red berries: Viva Red Pearl Pen
Fluff on the elf's hat: Liquid Applique

Copics & Prismacolor Pencils used to color this cutie patootie:

E21, 00, 000, 0000 w/Peach & Lt. Peach pencils (skin)
R20 & 00 w/Nectar pencil (cheeks)
E23, 53, 51, 50, 35 w/Dark Brown & Sienna Brown pencils (hair)
R24, 22, 20 w/Crimson Red pencil (reds)
G28, 24, 21, 20 w/Dark Green pencil (greens)

Here's one more view...

And...that's it for me! Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my latest Sugar Nellie project! And extra special thanks for your sweet comments...they make my day!

Hugsssss...the "germ free" kind, of course!! Until next time....

Meet "Victoria"...

Happy Saturday!! Well, I'm back from my trip to see the grandkiddos...and let me tell you, it was fantabulous!!! We went shopping several times, ate lots of yummy Mexican food, crafted (yes, all 5 of the grandkids are crafters!) and went "trick or treating"...such fun!! Unfortunately, my "souvenir" from the trip was a stinky ol' head cold!! ugh! But...no worries, I plan to shake it by next week when my sweet hubby and I take off for Las Vegas!! Never a dull moment around here!!

So...do I ever have some exciting news today!! Wait for it...

Sugar Nellie is releasing 6 new "Adorables" digi images! That's right...you can find them over at Funky Kits! And, as luck would have it, Sugar Nellie is having a big "reveal" of the images today! Wooohooo!! More about that in a a sec...first I'd like to introduce the most adorable of all the "Adorables" (I may change my mind when I see the others...but seriously, I can't imagine a cuter image than this little darlin'!)

Her name is Victoria! I've colored the digi of her head only...but there is another new digi of Victoria that includes her entire body! Can't wait to see her!! So...instead of printing this image with my standard black printer ink, I opted for a Sepia tone ink!! A little trickier to color...especially since I lightened the image a bit! So...she sort of looks like there are no lines, don'tcha think?

I colored Victoria with Copics & Prosmacolor pencils, blended with a little Sansodor. And used DPs from Simple Stories' Baby Steps collection.

Here's the rest of my card "recipe"...

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip & Blush Blossom from Stampin' Up
Flower: Prima
Lace & Pearl "buckle": Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon & pearls: my stash
A variety of dies: Magnolia, Sizzix, Spellbinders
Sentiment: Stampin' Up

And a peek at the inside...very, very basic indeed...

And, of course, the ever popular "artsy" view...

Now, my lovelies, it's time for you to pop on over to Sugar Nellie's HERE to see the rest of the new "Adorables"  images. My DT sistahs have come up with some lovely creations to showcase these little sweethearts! Enjoy!!

And...that's it for me! Thank you so much for visting...and for your kind comments that really make me smile! Oh...and please be sure to stop back on Monday, November 7th, when I'll be posting another of my Sugar Nellie DT projects. Until then, I'm sending you all "virtual" hugs...the kind that won't spread any of my cold cooties!

I started out with another one of my new Sugar Nellie stamps called "Christmas Garland". They're such a cute little snow couple, don'tcha think?! This stamp comes from the Home Grown Collection and you can find it HERE at Funky Kits!
