Hey there my sweet friends!! Welcome to my little Sugar Bowl post!! In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that, thanks to the magic of the internet, I have pre-scheduled today's post because I am currently on a little vacay with my handsome husband! But, I swear, I'm having an umbrella drink for each and every one of you! hehehe!

OK...let's get right to this fortnight's Sugar Bowl Challenge! Our very talented Sugar Mama, Gayle, has chosen the theme...
PAPER PIECING!

And she's given us this fun sketch to follow...

Hmmm...it's been a long, lonnng time since I've done any paper piecing! But...I tell ya, I had such fun with it!

Remember my sister, Dee? Well...this card is for her husband! He's an avid golfer...and, since his birthday is coming up, I decided to get a little jump start on his card!

I chose this cute little Sugar Nellie stamp called "Fore." This handsome little fella comes from Sugar Nellie's "Home Grown Manga Collection" and is available HERE at Funky Kits! I paper-pieced his cap and pants...then added a little more shading with Prismacolor pencils. Here's a side view...

My card "recipe"...
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy & Close to Cocoa (Stampin' Up)
DPs, buttons, & twine (my stash)
Sentiment: (computer generated)
Tag w/envelope (Melissa Frences)
Copics & prismacolor pencils

And one last view...

Now it's time to pop on over to the Sugar Bowl and take a peek at all the gorgeous "paper pieced" creations by my fellow DT Sweeties. Then, come join us for this fortnight's challenge! One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a fabulous prize from Sugar Nellie. Once again, our prize for this Sugar Bowl Challenge is....

...your choice of FOUR Sugar Nellie stamps
(increasing to SIX if we have 100+ entries!)...

Thanks so much for stopping by...and for your sweeeeeet comments! Hugs...until next time....

Well...for this week's challenge theme I chose...now don't laugh...

"Stitching" (real or faux)!!

LOL! Since I haven't even unpacked my sewing machine...let alone figured out how to thread it...I went for the "faux stitching" option! hehehe!!

I love this little cutie!! The image is called "Big Girl Pants" and is available HERE in Mo's online store. She looks like she's not quite sure about the "granny panties"...

Bright & Cheery at Sassy Cheryl's!!

WARNING!!! Grab your sunglasses...'cuz what you're about to see is "burn your retinas" bright! Hehehe! Oh yea, that's right...it's time for another fantabulous challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog! And our very lovely and talented Miz Dawn is our hostess again this week...and the Sassy Lady has chosen for this week's theme...

Bright & Cheery!

How fun...especially for those of us who are deep into the cold and dreary days of winter (not me, of course...but surely some of you are getting snow and cold by now!!) So...here's what I came up with...

I swear, I don't know what's gotten into me...orange again?! And I don't even particularly like orange...unless it's in the form of peach, that is! I guess my sweet friend, Dorcas, is rubbing off on me! hehehe!! But...orange is a mighty bright color...and all I had to do was add a little yellow and lime green and turquoise...and VOILA...BRIGHT and CHEERY!! hehehe!! Well, work with me...it seemed pretty bright and cheery at 0-dark-thirty when I was making it!! Now, in the light of day, it just hurts my eyes and nearly offends my sensibilities! bwahahaha!

OK...enough silliness...let's get down to business, shall we?! I used Sassy Cheryl's "Sassy Sally and Her Perfect Teddy Bear Gift" available HERE at Sassy Cheryl's Digis!! Ya know...I just love my little Sassy Sally! And look! She has a wonky little smile too! Wheeeee! Here's a little bit of a side view...

Here's my card "recipe"...
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Taken w/Teal, & Tangerine Tango (Stampin' Up)
DPs: "Fly a Kite" (Lime Twist)
Sentiment: Whimsy Stamps
Dies: Nestabilities & Magnolia Doohickey
Buttons. Crushed Curry ribbon, & sun clothespin (my stash)
Copics & Prismacolor pencils

And, the "artsy" view...

Alright, my sugar muffins, it's time for you to pop on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog to see what Dawn and the rest of the Sassettes have created for this week's challenge! Then, we'd love for you to join us for this week's challenge? Just remember to follow this week's Bright & Cheery theme. Oh, and...don't forget to link your finished project to this week's challenge...because one lucky participant (selected at random) will win a $5.00 digi credit to spend at Sassy Cheryl's Digis Online Store HERE!!

Sugar Nellie DT Monday...

Hey there my lovelies! Happy Monday!! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! Mine was relaxing...I spent most of the time in my craft room. I'm in the process of redecorating...and organizing...so, there are piles of crafting supplies everywhere! I'm just averting my eyes until my sweet hubby can put together my new Martha Stewart craft armoire. I promise to show photos when it's all done!! Until then, though...I am creating in CHAOS! hehehe!!

So...today I have a Sugar Nellie DT card to share with you...a little lady (and frog) with "ATTITUDE"!!

How precious, huh? Her name is "Pippi Longsocks" (I'm not sure what her frog-friend's name is!)...and she's part of the Fairy Glen collection of  Home Grown Sugar Nellie stamps. You can find her HERE at Funky Kits. Here's a side view...

I used only one kind of Designer Paper...it came from Bearly Mine Designs...and it's digital DP!! This is my first time using digital DPs. It's pretty cool! And I love this design...very "impressionist" looking!

Here's my card "recipe"...

Lace, faux pearls, & sentiment stamps: my stash
Seam binding and ribbon for that delicious pink bow: The Ribbon Girl
Flowers & metal filagree corner: Wild Orchid Crafts
Dies: Nestabilities & Memory Box
Copics & Prismacolor pencils

So...here's the deal...I know that Pippi looks ever so sweet...but she also looks like she (and her little frog) have a bit of "attitude"...so this sentiment seemed kind of perfect...what'cha think?

Clean & Simple at Mo's...

Please scroll down to see my latest Sugar Bowl DT card...it's a cutie, if I do say so myself! (teehee!)

I'm baaaack!! This time with a little something I like to call "Clean and Simple!" I'm not altogether sure if YOU'D call it "Clean and Simple"...but...in my world it is! And, ya know...I kinda like it in my world...people understand me here! LOL!! Ahhhh...but I digress...guess what?? I'm hostessing this week over at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog...and you'll never guess what I chose for this week's challenge theme! Wait for it...

Clean & Simple!!

I know...what WAS I thinking?? I can't even define "Clean & Simple"!! bwahaha!! I think I was thinking that this would be good for me...you know, try something a bit out of my comfort zone. Well...guess what? I was right! This IS out of my comfort zone! Way, wayyyyy out!! LOL!!

So...here's what I came up with...you tell me...is it Clean and Simple? (If it isn't...don't really tell me...cuz it'll probably hurt my feelings! And then you'd just feel bad! Right? I guess some things are just better left unsaid!)

This little sweetheart is called "Kisses" and you can find her HERE at Mo's online store. Isn't she soooooo stinkin' cute?! Here's an EXTREME CLOSE UP...

Soooooo...here's what I did...I found these DPs in my chaos that has become my craftroom (I'm re-doing it, rememba?!) and put together what I thought was a pretty simple design...which, in truth, isn't so much a design as it is just taping a chunk of DP to cardstock and slapping on a ribbon & bow! Then...when I got ready to do some serious coloring, I said to myself..."Self, what would make this really different?" And do you know what my answer was? Shades of grey!!! I know...daring,  huh? But, I don't know...it kinda works....

You've no doubt noticed that I added just one flower...and just six (count 'em, six! Oh, OK...12 if you count the ones on the inside...hehe!) black pearls!! I call that restraint!! Or maybe...I should call it clean and simple!  Here's another view...

Here's my card "recipe"...
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Blush Blossom, & Black (Stampin' Up)
DPs: Webster's Pages
Inside sentiment & heart stamp: Stash
Ribbon: Very Vanilla (SU)
Black pearls & black ribbon: Stash
Single rose: Wild Orchid Crafts
Nestabilities: Square  & Scalloped Square (Spellbinders)
Copics & Prismacolor pencils

And, of course, since you've stuck with me this long...(for those of you who haven't stuck with me...just avert your eyes for a moment!), here's the ever-popular "artsy" view...

And there ya have it...my personal interpretation of "Clean & Simple." Now, you will definitely want to head on over to Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog HERE to check out the fabulous creations by my talented DT sistahs!! Then, please join the fun this week at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! Just remember to use one (or more) of Mo Manning's images (you can find them in Mo's online stores HERE and HERE)...and follow this week's theme: "Clean & Simple." Who knows, you may be chosen (by Random.Org) to receive a $5.00 shopping spree at Mo's online stores.

I've decided to enter this card into the following challenges:

Wild Orchid Challenge #40 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Die Cute Special (Die cut & cute)

Thanks so much for stopping by...and for agreeing with me that this card really IS "clean and simple"! hehehe! And, as always, thank you for your kind comments...they make me smile all over my face!! Hugs...until next time!
