So Funny!

Happy 2014, my sweet friends!! I hope you all had the most fabulous winter holidays!! Our Christmas & New Years were rather quiet . . . and, as always, Santa (a.k.a. my sweet hubby) was very, VERY good to me!! What? Being spoiled isn't such a bad thing, right?! hehe! Anything Goes!

I do love "Anything Goes" challenges! hehe! Here's what I came up with . . .
So, here's the deal . . . my hubby's eldest daughter, Stephanie, has a birthday coming up soon! This Mo Manning image is called "So Funny". . . . and is available HERE in Mo's online store. Here's a close-up . . .
I decided to make a very Clean & Simple card!! Definitely out of my "comfort zone" as many of you know!! But I'm delighted with the way it turned out! Here's a side view . . .

Clean & Simple at Mo's...

Please scroll down to see my latest Sugar Bowl DT card...it's a cutie, if I do say so myself! (teehee!)

I'm baaaack!! This time with a little something I like to call "Clean and Simple!" I'm not altogether sure if YOU'D call it "Clean and Simple"...but...in my world it is! And, ya know...I kinda like it in my world...people understand me here! LOL!! Ahhhh...but I digress...guess what?? I'm hostessing this week over at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog...and you'll never guess what I chose for this week's challenge theme! Wait for it...

Clean & Simple!!

I know...what WAS I thinking?? I can't even define "Clean & Simple"!! bwahaha!! I think I was thinking that this would be good for me...you know, try something a bit out of my comfort zone. Well...guess what? I was right! This IS out of my comfort zone! Way, wayyyyy out!! LOL!!

So...here's what I came up with...you tell me...is it Clean and Simple? (If it isn't...don't really tell me...cuz it'll probably hurt my feelings! And then you'd just feel bad! Right? I guess some things are just better left unsaid!)

This little sweetheart is called "Kisses" and you can find her HERE at Mo's online store. Isn't she soooooo stinkin' cute?! Here's an EXTREME CLOSE UP...

Soooooo...here's what I did...I found these DPs in my chaos that has become my craftroom (I'm re-doing it, rememba?!) and put together what I thought was a pretty simple design...which, in truth, isn't so much a design as it is just taping a chunk of DP to cardstock and slapping on a ribbon & bow! Then...when I got ready to do some serious coloring, I said to myself..."Self, what would make this really different?" And do you know what my answer was? Shades of grey!!! I know...daring,  huh? But, I don't know...it kinda works....

You've no doubt noticed that I added just one flower...and just six (count 'em, six! Oh, OK...12 if you count the ones on the inside...hehe!) black pearls!! I call that restraint!! Or maybe...I should call it clean and simple!  Here's another view...

Here's my card "recipe"...
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Blush Blossom, & Black (Stampin' Up)
DPs: Webster's Pages
Inside sentiment & heart stamp: Stash
Ribbon: Very Vanilla (SU)
Black pearls & black ribbon: Stash
Single rose: Wild Orchid Crafts
Nestabilities: Square  & Scalloped Square (Spellbinders)
Copics & Prismacolor pencils

And, of course, since you've stuck with me this long...(for those of you who haven't stuck with me...just avert your eyes for a moment!), here's the ever-popular "artsy" view...

And there ya have it...my personal interpretation of "Clean & Simple." Now, you will definitely want to head on over to Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog HERE to check out the fabulous creations by my talented DT sistahs!! Then, please join the fun this week at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! Just remember to use one (or more) of Mo Manning's images (you can find them in Mo's online stores HERE and HERE)...and follow this week's theme: "Clean & Simple." Who knows, you may be chosen (by Random.Org) to receive a $5.00 shopping spree at Mo's online stores.

I've decided to enter this card into the following challenges:

Wild Orchid Challenge #40 - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Die Cute Special (Die cut & cute)

Thanks so much for stopping by...and for agreeing with me that this card really IS "clean and simple"! hehehe! And, as always, thank you for your kind comments...they make me smile all over my face!! Hugs...until next time!

It's a "Sassy" Blizzard...brrrrr

Please scroll down to see today's
"Magnolia-licious" card!

Hello again!! Soooo...have you started gearing up for the cold weather that is sure to come as we get deeper into the month of December?? It's been sooooooo cold here in Richmond, VA...in the 50's &  60's F! hehehe! Generally speaking, our weather is pretty mild...and we don't often get huge blizzards!! BUT...there's some serious weather happening over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog this week!! That's right!! Our very own "sassy" and talented Miz Judy is hostess again this week...and she's chosen for our challenge theme...

It's a BLIZZARD!!
(a.k.a. White on white)

Hmmm...well...I know I have dozens of Sassy Cheryl digi images...but, not quite the one I wanted for this week's challenge! hehehe!! So, a shopping I did go! Straight over to Sassy Cheryl's online store...and, as luck would have it, I found the perfect Sassy Sally image...and here's what I came up with....

This little cutie patootie is called " Sassy Sally Plays a Trick" and she's available at Sassy Cheryl's HERE!! That Sally...she's up to no good...again! hehehe!! Don'tcha just love that crooked (and kinda sinister) little smile of hers?? Bwahahahaha!!

I have to admit..."white on white" has always been such a challenge for me...but thanks to embossing folders and pearls, I was able to"jazz" this card up just a wee little bit!! Here's a peek at the inside...

Here's my card "recipe"...

Cardstock: Neenah White
Snowflake embossing folders: Cuttlebug
Flower thingie: Prima
Sentiments & pearls: my stash
Banner stamp: hAnglar & sTanglar
Snowflake edge punch: Martha Stewart
Liquid Applique for the fur trim

And one last photo...the "artsy fartsy" one...

Okey dokey...now it's time to pop on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog to check out all the "snowy" creations by my talented DT "Sassettes"!! Then, we'd love for you to come join the fun! Just remember to follow this week's "White on white" theme. You don't even have to use a Sassy Cheryl image...tho we love when you do!! Oh, and...don't forget to link your finished project to this week's challenge...because one lucky participant (selected at random) will win a $5.00 digi credit to spend at Sassy Cheryl's Digis Online Store HERE!!

Looking for my newest Magnolia project? Please scroll down....

Hey there my sweet friends!! Thanks to the magic of the internet and Blogger, as you read this post, I am jetting to Las Vegas, Nevada!! Yep...it's true, last week I was in Arizona...this week, I'm heading back to the desert to bake in the sun and read my trashy novel while my sweet hubby attends a medical conference!!  Hehehe! I'm becoming quite the jet setter in my old age, aren't I?!!

So...without further rambling (which, in case you hadn't noticed, I have a tendency to do!), let's get to this week's fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's!! Our theme this week is...

"Emboss It"

Here's my card "recipe"...

Embossing folders: Cuttlebug

Inside sentiment: (SU)

And...your fave "ahhhtsy fahhhhtsy" view...

Clean & Simple at the Sugar Bowl!

Hey there all you "Sugar" lovers!! Guess what?! It's time for another sweeeeet challenge at the Sugar Bowl...Challenge #70! And our very own talented DT sister, Maria Therese, has given us this fun sketch to follow...

...with "Clean & Simple" as our theme!

Now, you all know that I love my embellies...the more the better! But today...I must admit...I've outdone myself with my "clean & simple" efforts! hehehehe!!

I started out with another one of my fave Sugar Nellie stamps called "Apple Pip"... she's one of the Sherbet Pips from the Home Grown Collection and you can find her HERE at Funky Kits! I decided to make a little "altered notebook"...I've never made one before...but, I'll be honest...it was fun! I highly recommend it! Especially if you can find a cute little notebook for just $1.00 like I did!

The notebook was already kinda cute with its existing green plaid cover, but then I thought it would be fun to  "jazz it up" with a bit of designer paper from Basic Grey's "Oxford" collection layered on Not Quite Navy cardstock from Stampin' Up. I finished it off with a fun little flower from K & Co.! Here are the Copics I used to color this cutie patootie...

E21, 00, 000, 0000 (skin)
R20 (cheeks)
E29, 25, 23, 21, 53, 51, 50, YR21 (hair)
B99, 97, 95, 93, 91 (blues)
G28, 24, 21, 20, YG93 (greens)
E25, 23, 51 (stool & basket)
W1 (shadow)

Ohhhh...and that darling sentiment is from Stampin' Bella! Here's one more view...

OK...now it's time to tap dance on over to the Sugar Bowl and take a peek at the gorgeous creations by my fellow DT Sweeties. Then...why not pull out your art supplies and get busy creating your own card or project for this fortnight's challenge? Who knows...you may just be selected to win a fabulous prize from Sugar Nellie. Once again, our prize for this Sugar Bowl Challenge is....

...your choice of FOUR Sugar Nellie stamps
(increasing to SIX if we have 100+ entries!)...

So...you'll definitely want to enter...AND invite your friends to join in the fun too!! Now...let the craftin' begin! Thank you so much for stopping by...and for all of your kind comments that always make me smile!! Sending sweet hugs...until next time....
