We're doing "Winter" this week over at Sassy Cheryl's!

Happy Tuesday, my lovelies!! It's time for another funtastic challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog! And this week's challenge theme is . . .

"Winter/Cold Weather"
w/a Sassy Cheryl image, naturally!

Well. . . . first, I have to admit, our weather here in Richmond, VA, USA, has been far from "wintery" lately! Although last Tuesday, when I was in Pennsylvania, I woke up to this . . .
Yes . . . that's snow! And my poor little car didn't know quite what to make of it! Not to mention the fact that I wasn't prepared, in any way, for the snow!
Fortunately, I'd packed some socks . . . not for my feet though! I had to put socks on my hands to brush the snow from the car since I had no brush, scraper, or MITTENS! hahaha! But, alas, I digress . . . where was I? Ah yes . . . this week's challenge at Sassy Cheryl's! Oh . . . wait . . . since next week we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving, this week's challenge will actually be a 2 week challenge! Here's what I've been up to . . .
I've been commissioned to make some gift tags . . . so I've been working my crafty little "elf" hands to the bone! hehe! This darling little Sassy Cheryl cutie is, of course, Maddie! The image is called "Warm Winter Cocoa" and is available HERE in Sassy Cheryl's online store. Here's a close up . . .
And a peek at the card insert . . .
Now . . . since I missed last week's challenge 'cuz I was busy trying to get the snow off my car . . . and since we won't have a challenge next week, I thought I'd post a second gift tag. What'cha think?
Maddie . . . again!! This time she's holding a pretty sad looking little Christmas tree! But she looks mighty pleased with her decoration attempt, don't you agree? This image is actually called "Maddie's Charlie Brown Tree" and is available HERE at Sassy Cheryl's! Here's a close-up . . .
And a look at this one's tag insert . . .
These tags are such  fun to make! So, stay tuned! There may just be a couple more coming! Now I hope you'll take a few minutes to visit Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog and see what my talented DT sisters have created for our "Winter/Cold Weather" challenge! Then I hope you'll join us for this 2-week challenge! Who knows? You may just be the winner of free Sassy Cheryl digis!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs . . . until next time . . .

. . . which, coincidentally, is this week's challenge theme!

No problem! I've been in Christmas Card mode for weeks now!! hehe! Here's what I came up with . . .

Valerie & Snowman . . .

Hey there, m'darlins!! Happy November!! In case you needed a reminder . . . Christmas is NEXT MONTH!! Ho ho ho!! So, I'll be concentrating on making "Holiday" and winter cards for the next several weeks, me thinks! Oh, hey . . . it's time for another cool challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! This week's theme is . . .

"Anything Goes!"
w/a Mo Manning image, of course!

OK . . . so, here's the deal . . . I just got home a couple of days ago after spending a week in Arizona with my three fabulous kids and our six super-de-duper cool grandkiddos!! Here are a couple of pics . . .
Youngest grand-cutie, 17 month old Isla Bleu, loves ice cream as much as her Gramma Pat!! She's going at it with both hands!! LOL!

And here are all six of our sweethearts in their "trick-or-treat" costumes. From left to right front row: Brody (Superman), Mia (50's girl), and Sophia (Panda Bear); and back row: Ava (a very gorgeous mummy!), Isla (kitty), and our oldest, Emma (devil).

Well . . .  as you can imagine, crafting was moved to the back burner for a few days!! But . . . I did have time to make this cute little Christmas ornament . . .
I  used one of Mo's newest images called "Valerie in Winter." You can find her, along with two other "Valerie" images, right HERE in Mo's online store!
Isn't little Valerie just adorable! And she was super fun and easy to color!! Now . . . it's time for you to pop on over to Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog and check out the fabulous  projects created by my sweet and very talented Design Teamies! Then, please join us for this week's challenge. It's simple, really, just pull out your craft supplies and at least one Mo Manning image . . . and let the crafting begin!

Oh . . . and don't forget, Mo is awarding (selected at random) one $5.00 shopping spree at her online store for every 25 challenge participants!

Thanks so much for visiting! Hugs . . .

Farewell to my Sugar Nellie "Family" . . .

Happy Wednesday, my sweet friends and fellow "sugar" lovers!! I am writing this post with mixed emotions. You see, I've made the very difficult decision to step down from Sugar Nellie's Design Team so that I can spend more time pursuing other expressions of art . . . including charcoal and watercolor portraiture.

And, since I'm going to spend more time on my art career, I thought it would be fun to share a card I created and posted last year using one of my favorite Sugar Nellie stamps!

*********
This is one of Krista Smith's "Simply Sassy" images created exclusively for Sugar Nellie. Her name is, "Artistic Goddess" . . . and I do believe she was my very FIRST "Simply Sassy" stamp. I just love her facial expression . . . and funky specs! And, ohhhh, that hair! What fun!! "Artistic Goddess" is available HERE at Funky Kits.

I colored this cutie with the following Copics:
Skin: E21, 00, 000, 0000
Cheeks: R30 & R20
Hair: E25, 23, 21, 50, 15, YR21 & 20
Eyes: G46, 43, 40
Purples: V28, 25, 22, 20, 000
Peachy pinks: R22, 20, 00, 000

Here's a bit of a side view . . .
I had to laugh . . . I showed my husband this card and, of course, he told me he liked it! (He's so good like that! hehehe!) Then he said, "I hope the theme isn't 'Clean & Simple', cuz if it is, you're in big trouble!" I tell ya, I was ROTFL!

My card "recipe" . . .
Creamy Caramel, Black, & Very Vanilla cardstock: Stampin' up
DPs: "Almanac Collection" by Prima
Lace, feathers, pearls, buttons, flower, Scrabble tiles, & twine: My stash
Film, hangers, & "clock die: Tim Holtz
Butterfly medallions: Bo Bunny
Mini Clips: Stampin' Up
Sentiment: Stampers Anonymous
Artist stamp (inside): 100 Proof Press
Wonky Rectangle Nesties: Spellbinders
and a few colored pencils on top of my Copics

. . . a peek at the inside . . .
And a closeup of that hilarious sentiment! I must admit, I can't disagree with it at all! LOL!
And, finally . . .
I am so very thankful to Karen & Gayle and all of my friends over at Sugar Nellie for giving me the opportunity to hang out with them and all of my talented DT sisters...and to play with some of the sweeeeetest "rubber" and digis out there!

So . . . that's it for me! Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my last Sugar Nellie DT card! Sending big hugs!

Mo's Fave Color . . .

Hello there, my lovelies!! It's Thursday . . . so that means it's time for another fun challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! This week, the lovely and clever Kim is our hostess!! And she's decided we should all create projects using . . .

"Mo's Favorite Color"
*** Hint: It's YELLOW! ***

So . . . since I couldn't put my hands on any yellow Christmas papers, I decided to go with a "baby" card this week!! What'cha think?
I think I've used this Mo Manning image more often than any other of her images. It's perfect for a boy card . . . girl card . . . or, for those "parents-to-be" who are choosing not to learn their baby's gender until delivery! This sweetheart is called "Baby and Bunny" . . . and is available HERE in Mo's online store. Here's a closer look . . .
So . . . I seem to be in a "twisted easel card" kick lately! They're such fun to make . . . and so easy . . .
 Yellow for Mo . . . with just a few touches of green (for me . . . hehe!) . . .
My Card Recipe:
Image printed on Cryogen metallic white cardstock
Barely Banana & Certainly Celery cardstock: Stampin' Up
So Saffrom ribbon: Stampin' Up
DPs, pearls, white ribbon, sentiment stamp, & doily: My stash
Corner die: Joy Crafts
Aged Ivory Frantage
Copic & Shin Han markers, & Colored Pencils

And, finally, the "artsy" view . . .
