It's "Sassy" Tuesday again! Hope your week is off to a fabulous start!! I know mine is, 'cuz I'm craftin'!! So . . . are you ready for another fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog? Great, 'cuz my darlin' and oh so talented friend and fellow DT "Sassette," Cathy, is our hostess for this week's Sassy Cheryl's Challenge, and she's chosen a very "challenging" theme . . .well, challenging for me, at least . . .

Say what?! Yikes!! Well...out came my embossing folders. And . . . well, I decided to give that whole "clean and simple" thing another shot!! I think I nailed it this time! hehehe!! What'cha think?

Yep . . . definitely clean and simple!! Ohhhh . . . I'm so proud! You just don't know! So . . . here's the deal . . .  one of my husband's colleagues called a week ago and asked if I'd make a "Thinking of you" card for her to send one of her cousins. And, it just so happens that her cousin loves Ladybugs! And then yesterday, while I was browsing through Sassy Cheryl's online digi store, I found this new Sassy Sally with ladybugs!!! Whoohoo! Perfect, huh?! She's called "Sassy Sally Sits in Wonder" and you can find her right HERE!

Hmmm. . . tea? Or perhaps a cup o' coffee? Well, whichever you choose, I could probably hook ya up! I may not be a great cook, but I sure can make a mean cup of coffee! hehe! But first, before we get to that, I have some exciting news to share with you! 7 Kids College Fund is going to be debuting a brand new store blog . . . check it out HERE!!

I decided that it had been far too long since I'd made a "shabby chic" style card . . . so that's just what I did. Look closely, can you see that I've grunged up the edges with Tim Holtz Painted Fence Crackle Paint? Yep, it's true! I distressed the edges big time and then added Crackle Paint! This image is called "Tea Time" (NOW do you see the connection with the "cup o' tea/coffee" babble? hehehe!) created by Elizabeth Bell for Belles & Whistles.

Here you can get a better look at the Melissa Frances Mini Bag & Tag . . . I am delighted to have found these at 7 Kids. They're such fun to use . . . and so versatile! I crackle-painted the bag too! hehe!

Well...hello again, my lovelies!! I've been a busy little mama . . . or in my case, grand-mama!! Still recovering from vacay...and trying to shake the nasty cold I've managed to catch!! I've decided that I won't get rid of it until I give it away! Any volunteers? Nah . . . I thought not! Well, let's talk about my new card for this week's cool challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog, shall we? Our hostess this week, Sheila, is actually taking a bit of a break for health reasons. But, she did give us a cool "Bingo" card to use for this week's challenge . . . soooooooooooooo . . .  let's play . . .

"BINGO - w/a Mo Image, of course"!!

Now, while I have played Bingo in my life, this is my first Bingo Challenge! I had such fun, don'tcha know! I chose "Flowers, Pearls, & Embossing" . . .  YIKES!! I just realized that it says "DRY Embossing"!! Well, like my sweet friend, Cathy, says . . .  I've stretched the "rules" just a bit . . . 'cuz I am soooooo NOT dismantling this card to add DRY embossing! Mine happens to be WET embossed! Ruh roh! hehehe! Note to self, "pay closer attention to challenge details in the future!" LOL!! Grrrr!! OK, so now that we've established that I'm a scofflaw, how 'bout we take a look at my card?!

This card is actually a commission. A dear friend of mine has a daughter who's getting married. So she wanted something special. She actually selected this gorgeous Mo Manning image from several options I gave her. My "guidelines" were "understated and elegant". Understated?! Seriously?! Have you ever seen me do anything that's elegant and understated?! Well . . . I hope I pulled it off! I quite like how it turned out! Here's sort of a side view . . .

This gorgeous image is called "Bride and Groom" and is available HERE in Mo's online store. So . . . back to Bingo . . . Pearls, check! Flowers, check! Dry embossing, not so much! I actually applied embossing powder (hey, wait a sec, that was DRY! . . . OK, so I think I'm still OK!). As I was saying, I applied Boss Gloss and Dry Opaque White Embossing Powder to some gorgeous metal filigree corners from Wild Orchid Crafts. Then I took my heat tool to the corners. And, VOILA!  White, ceramic-looking corners! Here's a peek at the inside . . .

Hello my little sugar muffins!! Happy Thursday...hope you're having a great week! I've been busy trying to recover from my recent vacay!! I know you feel so sorry for me, right?! hehehe!  I promise, though, I had umbrella drinks for each and every one of you! Deeelish!!

Sooooo, let's get right down to business, shall we? For this fortnight's Sugar Bowl Challenge, our very talented Kiki has given us this fun sketch to follow . . . .

And, since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, our theme is . . . .

LOVE!

Perfect, huh?! Well . . . I thought I'd make a card that could be used for Valentine's Day, or an anniversary, or just to say "I love you." And here's what I came up with . . . . .

I chose a gorgeous Sugar Nellie stamp from the Simply Sassy Collection called "Pillow Talk." You can find this little missy HERE at Funky Kits! I decided to shake things up a bit, so I stamped the image with Memento Desert Sand ink, making the outline very subtle. The stamped image looks almost like it has no lines, doesn't it? I quite like the effect! Here's an extreme close-up . . . .

WOW! Would'ja just look at that hair? It's scrumptious!! And I had such fun coloring it!! Here's a side view . . . .

Just "chicken" in...

Hello there, kiddos. Just a quick post for me today . . . alright, I know, I know . . . my posts are NEVER quick! hehehe!! Well . . . I do have a cute and kinda clever little card to share with you today . . .

I have no idea what this card style is called . . . but I really like it! And it was such fun to make!! This card features "Country Girl" by Sarah Kay for Stampavie. . .

She's so cute . . .  and was such fun to color! I've been just itching to make a card with her and these gorgeous DPs (by Stampin' Up). Cardstock is Blushing Bride, also by Stampin' Up. Those scrumptious roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts!! OK . . . are ya ready for something fun? Wait for it . . .

How cool is this? There's an antique-looking brad holding everything together at the top . . . and each layer swivels! The middle layer has a fun sentiment (from my stash) and an image of a chicken (SU).

Yep . . . aqua and brown! Yummy, huh? I thought I'd make something a wee bit different from the typical red and pink! And these are just scrumptious colors together, don'tcha think? Plus, it could be used for an "anytime" card as well as a Valentine!

Howdy doody, my sweet friends!! I'm back from vacay ...my hubby and I were hanging out on a week-long "Smooth Jazz" Caribbean Cruise!! And let me just say, a fun time was had by all! hehe!! So...I'm baaack on solid ground...relaxed and rejuvinated...and thrilled to be back in my craftroom coloring! (I soooo missed my Copics! LOL!) My FIRST Post for 7 Kids...

Happy February 1st, my lovelies!! I have some very exciting news to share with you today!! I've been invited to join the fabulously talented ladies on the Design Team over at 7 Kids College Fund! How cool is that?!! Soooo...this is my very first official post for the 7 Kids College Fund Challenge! Are you ready?? Me too! So let's get started!
