Another Tilda

Hello again!! I've got another Z-fold card to share with you. I'm loving these smaller cards . . . so much simpler to mail! This is another card made with sweet little Tilda from Magnolia stamps!! I used Distress Inks for this cutie! I'm really enjoying painting with DIs lately . . . it's so relaxing!

I've decided to enter this cutie into the "As You Like It" Challenge where the theme is . . .  Digi or Rubber and why. I actually like them both!! Digi images are so convenient to use and store . . . but when I paint with Distress Inks, I prefer rubber stamping. For this one, I used a rubber stamp!

Another Tilda . . . I'm having such fun!

Hello again!! I tell ya, I am having a blast making cards for fun!! This is another one that I just decided to make 'cuz I've been missing my sweet little Magnolia stamps!!

So . . . here's the deal . . . I couldn't figure out if this little Tilda has ears or not! It sorta looks a little like an ear . . . at least on her right side! Well . . . no matter . . . I just decided to give her TWO ears . . . what the heck! She'll thank me for it too if she ever has to wear glasses! LOL! Here's an extreme close-up of "Tilda with a Blue Blanket" (in this case, it would be an "aqua" blanket!) . . .

Tilda . . . just for fun!

Hey there my blogging friends!! It's Sunday and I have been doing a bit of "playing" lately! That's right . . . I made a card JUST FOR FUN!! And wanted to share it with you . . . (be forewarned . . . bright papers! Ya better grab your sunglasses!! hehe!)

I made this card for our sweet grand-daughter, Sophie . . . she's my little "crafting" buddy! Soph lives about 2000 miles away, but we "Skype" and craft together quite regularly! She just started 1st grade . . . all day school! She's doing well . . . her mom (my daughter) is a wreck!  Maybe I should make a card for my daughter too! Dancin' Tilda . . . Just for FUN!

Happy Saturday, sweet friends! Well, tomorrow is Mother's Day here in my little corner of the world, so let me be the first to say "Happy Mother's Day" to you all! I'll be spending the day in my studio . . . wheet whoo! That's my favorite way to spend just about any day!! So, speaking of my studio . . . I've been busy cleaning and organizing . . . and it will be done soon. So, keep your eyes peeled for photos! Wait 'til you see my new Martha Stewart Craft Armoire! I am so spoiled, I know!

Oooops . . . I seem to have gotten off on a bit of a tangent . . . I nearly forgot the reason for today's post!! I have a new card to share with you! One I made just for fun!!!

This little darlin' is, of course, Tilda! I just love her curly, cropped hair! And I've always been a huge fan of the "brain squeezer" .. . . I wish they'd thought of these when my daughter was a baby (39 years ago)! I used to tape bows to her bald little head! hehehe! But, I digress . I decided to make a twisted easel card today! They are such fun to make . . . and to receive!

Anything Goes at 7 Kids!

Happy Wednesday my sweet friends! It's time for another fun-tastic challenge at 7 Kids Challenge Blog! And this fortnight's challenge theme is  . . .

Anything Goes!

I love "Anything Goes" challenges . . . especially when there are sooooo many fabulous new stamps to choose from at 7 Kids College Fund! And let me tell ya, I've been doing a fair amount of shopping at 7 Kids! hehehe!! OK . . . so, without further ado, here's my DT project . . .

This little sweetheart is called "Pie Tilda" . . . I decided, for a change of pace, to stamp her with Memento Desert Sand ink, giving her a bit of a "no line" look! And I paired her with this gorgeous DP and cardstock (Baja Blue, Very Vanilla, & Pear Pizzazz) from Stampin' Up. I also used Pear Pizzazz seam binding (from SU), flowers and lace from Wild Orchid Crafts, corner die & front sentiment from Whimsy. The inside sentiment came from an old Bildmalarna set, and the corner stamp is from Lili of the Valley's (LOTV) "Grunge" Postmark set. Here's another view . . .

Seize the day!

Have you ever heard the phrase "Carpe diem?" It's Latin...and it basically means "seize the day!" Well, this card is all about living for the day! Say what?! Yep . . . just wait for it! It will all become clear very shortly! But first, my card!

This little cutie is Tilda . . . and she's perched on top of her luggage . . . waiting for a Taxi maybe? I think she's ready to start a new adventure in her darling paper-pieced dress! Here's sort of a side view . . .

These DPs are from My Minds Eye, the Lost & Found "Madison" collection. The lace and roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts . . . and the seam binding is from The Ribbon Girl. Here's a peek at the inside . . .

I actually did almost nothing to the inside other than layering some of the DPs. That Eiffel Tower is part of the DP design. The only thing I did was add a couple of stamped images . . . including a fabulous sentiment quote by author and humorist, the late Erma Bombeck. Here's a close-up . . .

Fabulous sentiment, huh?! So, there ya have it . . . Carpe diem! Or, as I like to say, "Eat dessert first!"

Well, well, welcome to Wednesday in my little corner of blogland!  Hope you're having a great week so far! Mine has been busy . . . catching up with cardmaking, housework, laundry, and other essential stuff now that I'm finally recovering from that nasty cold I caught from my sweet hubby! (Don't tell him I said that . . . I keep saying that it's not his fault! hehe!) So . . . guess what? Seriously? But, but  . . .  there are so many colors in the rainbow . . . and I really like using every one! Sigh! Oh, alright then! I'll follow the rules . . . sort of! Here's a peek at my "monochromatic" card . . . .

Why yes, it's true. Monochromatic would imply one color family! Well . . . I sort of went with a monochromatic, "black and white" photo looking theme!! What can I say? I just had to add a teensy little pop pf color! hehehe!! But it's mostly monochromatic, right? Let's just call it "artistic license," shall we? LOL!

My final post of 2011...

Hey darlin' friends!! I hope you had a great weekend last week...and, if you celebrated a Winter Holiday, I hope it was fabulous!! So...I must admit...Santa was very good to me this year!! My NOOK tablet is pretty cool...never mind that I don't know how to do much more than READ BOOKS on it! bwahahaha!! But, I suspect I'll figure it all out eventually! Ahem...have I mentioned lately that I still have a sewing machine that's never seen the light of day? True...electronics & machinery...arrggh!!! But...one of my New Year's resolutions is to get out my sewing machine so I can sew on cards...another of my resolutions is to organize my craftroom!! Hmmmm...365 days in a year, right?! LOL!!

OK...enough chatter...I have a card to show you! And it's NOT a Christmas card!! Whoohoooo!

I tell ya, I am not generally a fan of purples...but then I found these gorgeous DPs from Magnolia...and thought they'd go well with Almost Amethyst cardstock (Stampin' Up)...and...voila...a sweet little "thank you" card! Adorable, huh? I used "Tilda with Hellebores"...from the Sweet Christmas Dreams 2011 Collection. I tell ya, she was such fun to color...especially her hair!! The hellebores were fun too...do they come in purple? I don't even know. I've never seen a hellebore up close and personal! So, in my world, hellebores can be purple! hehehe!!

Oh my gosh...don'tcha just love that bow? It's made with "silky crushed ribbon" and is available HERE at The Ribbon Girl (my "go to store" for the most luscious ribbons ever!). Go ahead, check it out...it's OK...cuz I just placed a huge order...but I'm sure there's a little left for you! hehehe!! Tell Mary and Andrea I said "hi"!

I colored this darlin' with Copics & Prismacolor pencils...the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps...and those yummilicious flowers and pearl brads are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I kept the inside pretty simple...just a few bows and a Martha Stewart lattice punched border thingie...and space for a personal note.
