You color my world...

Hi everyone...I hope you are having the best weekend! I know I am...spending it with my sweet hubby and crafting!! What could be better than that?! Here's a little card I just finished...using a stamp from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design...the stamp was actually named after Suzanne Dean...how cool is that?! I think this little girl is too, too darling...and she reminds me a little of my gorgeous grandaughters. ...all four of them are budding artists. Rose petals...

Hi everyone. Well, thanks to all of your wonderful comments, I actually took the plunge and made a card with a little Tilda image that I painted with distress inks. OMG!! It took me THREE times to get her right. But, I'm pretty pleased with how this little lady turned out! So thank you all for your kind comments and great support!!

Nestabilities label # 10 and my trusty Cuttlebug
Inks: Versafine black, Rose red (for sentiment), and Tim Holtz distress inks (Tattered Rose & Vintage Photo - skin; Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Antique Linen -dress & anklets; Shabby Shutters & Bundled Sage - basket; Bundled Sage - ground; Vintage Photo & Brushed Corduroy - hair; Aged Mahogony - rose petals & hair ornament; Black Soot - shoes).
I also used stickles for the rose petals and hair ornament, Glossy Accents for her shoes, and Copic C0 for a slight shadow around the image.

Those little pink dew drop baubles are from Stampin Bella. I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distress tool and added a bit of Vintage Photo to make it look ever so vintage!!

I'm pretty pleased with the results. I hope you enjoy looking at my very FIRST distress-inked card.

Practicing...

So here are a couple of Tildas that I've been working on...the ballerina was done w/distress inks...and the flower girl was done with Prismacolor pencils. I feel pretty good about how they turned out...but want to practice a bit more. Any suggestions? Not surprising...it appears that I'm heavy handed w/distress inks and pencils...just like I am w/Copics. Practicepracticepractice!! Daydream...

Hi everyone...hope you're having a fabulous weekend. It's pretty warm here in Richmond, VA...but sunny and a perfect summer day. (I think tomorrow may be the first day of summer...but, trust me, it's already here!!) I've been playing around with a couple Tim Holtz distress inks...and yesterday I tried my hand at Prismacolor pencils. Both are fun...and I'm anxious to practice a bit more so I can actually create some images that are "card worthy"! In the meantime, though, here's a sweet little card made with a Penny Black stamp called "Daydreams" and Copics. I love this chubby little girl...reminds me of pics I've seen of myself as a pudgy little girl! I'm giving the card to one of my friends at work who just landed a great new job. It's a promotion for her...and, while I'll miss seeing her everyday and sharing morning coffee, I'm sooooo excited for her!! So now I'm going to work on another image/card. Two new cards...

Hi everyone...Oh my, it's been a busy week and I am so jazzed that it's finally the weekend. My sweet hubby let me sleep in this morning...he took the puppies out to potty and I slept...until 11:15!!! Then, after watching "Crazy Heart" (movie w/Jeff Bridges) I trotted off to my craft room. I've had such a fun day...I listed several cards in my Etsy online store (see link to your left). PLUS, my friendly mailman just delivered some new Magnolia stamps...from the 2010 Wedding Collection. I purchased them from my friend and fellow Arizonan, Tab, at 7 Kids College Fund. Can't wait to ink them up! whoohoo!

In the meantime, I thought I'd post a couple of cards I've been working on...the first one is a darling little Mo Manning image...I got her and the cute sentiment from Stamping Bella. I made this card an easel card...it's a birthday goodie for my sister-in-law, Mary. We'll see her tomorrow at a family get together up in Maryland. Can't wait to sink my teeth into some yummy Maryland blue crab!

The second card is little 60's Tilda...I just love this little image!! Both stamps were done with the same color palette...my husband says these colors are very "preppy"...maybe so, but I think they're yummy together!! Hi everyone. Well...another wonderful weekend...hope you all had a chance to relax. I had a lazy 2 days...and it was absolutely fantabulous!! I got a chance to finish a card and color a couple of images...oh, and I had some time to do some online shopping for new craft supplies! Seriously...I only purchased things that I need!!! So...here's a little card I created for my sister, Dee. (I have to send her an email and tell her not to check out my blog this week!) She's such a great sister...and I am just so thankful that she's my friend too. She really is my "umbrella in the storms of life"! So...here's my card recipe:

I used Inkssentials Glossy Accents for ti;da's raincoat, boots, umbrella, and puddle; aqua stickles for the raindrops; and cotton candy stickles for the lace on Tilda's umbrella and to outline the image that was cut out w/my Cuttlebug & Nestabilities.

Hitching a ride...on a snail!

Hi again...here's another card I made. I made it last week for my sweet friend, Sandy, who is recovering from a little "vacation" in the hospital. It's one of the Fairytale Tildas...sitting on a little snail. I just thought she was so cute...and would cheer anyone up!! As for the "recipe" for this card...I apologize for not writing down the copics I used...but take a look at those gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts...in the U.K...I think my whole first paycheck may just get signed over to them! I get a little crazy with all the great online shopping!! Cute as a bug...ladybug, that is!

Hi everyone...it seems like it's been ages since I posted anything here. My new job is fun and challenging and exciting...and by the time I get home in the evenings, I'm ready to crash!! I do a little coloring...but most of my serious crafting has been relegated to weekends...and this is a THREE-DAY WEEKEND!! How fabulous! I hope you are all having a great weekend! I watched some Copic Tutorials this afternoon and I decided to try the "feathering" technique that Suzanne Dean demonstrates in one of her online lessons. I decided to focus on the image itself and limit the embellishments on this simple little Ladybug Tilda card. Here's the recipe:

Flowers 'n pearls

Hi everyone...it's been 2 weeks since I posted anything. That, in itself, is crazy...but, what's even more outrageous is that I haven't made a card in that period of time either!! I started my new job the day after Mother's day and am still trying to get accustomed to missing my afternoon "nappy nap"! hehehe

So...here's a little card I put together...it's pretty basic, but I think it's kinda cute. The card features Tilda from the 2010 Easter Collection...she's holding some tulips and is propped on a watering can (which probably is a bit uncomfortable...but you know Tilda, she's a good sport about such things!)

Springtime Tilda...

I had the top down on my car this morning (well, it was 59 degrees...a little chilly, but it was only 7:30 a.m...so I had to put on my seat heater!!). Dreams come true...

Hi everyone...Thanks so much for stopping by. It's Thursday and I've heard from my friend, Kris, in Montana that they've had 5 inches of snow...and my sister, Dee, in Minnesota tells me they've had snow in northern MN. Here in Richmond, VA, it's supposed to hit > 90 degrees. How crazy is that?! Well...I think I'll take the heat over snow...at least in May!!

Just a few more days before I start my job...so I'm trying to get a bunch of cards listed in my Etsy store...and am making some cards for family members, etc. Here's what I put together this afternoon...this little lady is from Sugar Nellie Stamps (Scotland) and the name of the stamp is "Country Garden". I colored her with Copic markers (I used R32, 35, & 37 for her shirt...B91, 95, & 97 for her jeans, and E19, 15, 11, & YR21 for her hair). Cardstock is from SU (barely banana, melon mambo, & true thyme); designer papers are from My Mind's Eye. I used my Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, and MS butterfly punch. If you look closely, you'll see some yellow rick-rack...a free gift from Diana at Magnolia-licious (Thanks Diana!). Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts...and the butterfly charm, ribbon, & faux pearls are from my stash. Hope you enjoy her...and I hope the young woman who is going to be receiving it for her birthday love, love, loves it!! Happy Wednesday...go easy on the Margaritas!! So, I hope you're all having a great week...working, crafting, or whatever else you might be doing on this lovely Spring day!! Here's a sweet little card I made this weekend using a design layout from one of the Design Team members at Magnolia-licious. I love this image...her name is "Young Alexa" and she comes from the Elizabeth Bell collection at Susana's Custom Art & Design. I colored her with Copics...and mounted her up on dimensionals. The cardstock came from Stampin-Up (Perfect Plun & Pale Plum). Designer papers are from Heidi Grace (thanks to my friend, Sandy in NC, for prompting me to search for it! It's gorgeous, dont'cha think?!) Flowers are from my new Wild Orchid Craft shipment. I used Frosted Lace Stickles to add a little bling to the flowers and corners of the card front. My brother and me...

Hello everyone...here's a cute little card that I made this weekend with a stamp from Rubber Stampede. I just thought it looked like a little sister and brother...made me smile to remember childhood sibling relationships! They seem so easy and innocent when we're young, don't they? I used Stampin-Up cardstock (black & very vanilla), and design papers from October Afternoon (red polka-dot) and K&Company. I distressed the edges w/my Tim Holtz distress tool. The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts...if you crafters haven't checked them out, do! They stock an amazingly beautiful array of flowers...their prices are very reasonable...and the customer service rocks!! I used my Bow-Easy to make this bow...it's like a quadruple bow! Oh...I also used lace around the image...and, of course, rubies from my stash! Inside sentiment "Just a Note" is from Amuse Arts. Where did April go??

Hi everyone...oh my, it's May already! I've been crazy busy these past few days. I finished two cards yesterday. I need to take pics so I can post them here...that's first on my "to do" list for tomorrow. My sweet hubby and I went to Lexington, VA this past weekend for his 40th college reunion (Washington & Lee University). We had a lovely time...the campus is just so beautiful! If you ever have the opportunity, I would highly recommend a visit to Lexington, VA...home of Stonewall Jackson and, of course, Gen. Robert E. Lee. Great place for checking out some Civil War history! Oh...plus...and this is huge...I start my new job next Monday!! I'm so excited...such a great opportunity to work again with babies in the NICU and their families! And, finally...I just opened up my online store to sell my cards & paper creations!! Here's a card that I made my friend, Sandy, in North Carolina. I used Melon Mambo cardstock from Stampin-Up...which is one of my fave colors. This image is called "Coffee Kiki La Rue". She's from CC Designs...I bought her from Tab at 7 Kids College Fund. Isn't Kiki so adorable?!! I colored her with Copics, of course.
