Cute as a Button!

Hey there kiddos, can you believe it's Tuesday already?  And you know what that means, right?! It's time for another fabby challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog! Our very own Sassy Cathy is our hostess again this week . . . and she's chosen for our theme . . .
No Embossing!

Ya know what I say to "No embossing," Miz Cathy? I say "No problem!" But wait . . . each and every design I came up with screamed, "EMBOSS ME!" Aaaackk! But alas, I did NOT give in to "embossing" temptation! I followed the rules! Hehehe!! Here's my little "non-embossed" card . . .

Now, this is kinda cool . . . our adorable 6 year-old granddaughter, Sophie, LOVES shaker cards! So this one's for Soph! I think she's gonna love, love, LOVE it! I do believe Sophie has saved all of the cards I've made for her. She has them all safely hidden in her underwear drawer! Hmmm . . . I'm not sure . .. is that a good thing? LOL!!

I digress . . . back to my card! This little darlin' is actually a Sassy Cheryl rubber stamp called "Lovely Lulu." You can find the entire Lovely Lulu set - along with this perfect little sentiment - at Kraftin' Kimmie's HERE!

My card "recipe". . .
Melon Mambo, Pear Pizazz, & Whisper White cardstock: Stampin' Up
DPs: Debbie Mumm

Fun, huh? Now . . . it's time for you to skip on over to Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog to see what Cathy and the rest of  my fellow DT Sassettes have created for this week's challenge! Then, we'd love for you to join us for this week's challenge? Just remember to follow Cathy's "NO EMBOSSING" theme!!

One lucky participant, selected at random, will win . . .
TWO Sassy Cheryl Digi Images!

And, just wait 'til you see some of Sassy Cheryl's adorable new digi images!
They are so stinkin' cute!

Sally's shakin' it at Sassy Cheryl's

If you're looking for my latest Magnolia-licious DT project, please scroll down...

Hello again, my lovelies...it's time for another fabulous challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog!! The very sweet and talented Sassy Dawn is our "hostess with the mostest" again this week! And she's chosen a fabulous photo to inspire us all...oh...and, because it's October...we're still using PINK to support Breast Cancer Awareness!! Here's the photo...it's sooo cooooooool!!

So...la de da...a shopping I did go! Why? Well, three reasons...one, I can't help myself...two, there are so many fabulous NEW images over at Sassy Cheryl's Digi online store...and three, I NEED THEM ALL!! hehehe!! Here's my card for this week...hope you enjoy....

You may recognize "Sassy Sally"...she's one of Sassy Cheryl's little cuties. This one is called "The Forgotten Gift" and she's available HERE at Sassy Cheryl's. I love that facial expression...it just cracks me up!! hehehe!!

I decided to focus on the fun patterns in Dawn's inspiration photo...so I pulled out this gorgeous DP from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses collection. I love these papers...they're such fun! And...since our granddauther, Sophie, has a birthday right around Christmas, I thought they'd be perfect for her birthday card! Soph will be 6 years old!! Here's a pic...she just lost her first tooth! Do ya think she'll be calling Sassy Sally "Thathy Thally"?! LOL!!

Isn't Soph a doll?!! We sure think so!! She told me that she wants a mustache for Christmas because she thinks it will help her perfect her British accent! hehehe!! So, of course, we bought her a mustache! LOL! Hopefully I'll have a pic of Soph with her mustache for next's week's post! hehehe!! OK...enough silliness... back to my card...I thought it would be fun to make another shaker card...so I pulled out a cool little self-adhesive shaker pouch from Impression Obsession...and added some teensy little glass beads. Instant CUTE!!

Here's my card "recipe"...
Cardstock: Blushing Bride & Garden Green (Stampin' Up)
DPs: Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey)

Then...come join the fun! Just remember to follow this week's PINK theme using Dawn's photo for inspiration! You don't even have to use a Sassy Cheryl image...tho we love when you do!! Oh, and...don't forget to link your finished project to this week's challenge...because one lucky participant (selected at random) will win a $5.00 digi credit to spend at Sassy Cheryl's Digis Online Store HERE!!

Shake it up baby...

Welcome friends! It's the first Thursday of October and, yes, that means it's time for Challenge #69 at the "Sugar Bowl"...Sugar Nellie's fortnightly challenge blog!

Now...you're in for a real treat because our very own sweet and crazy-talented DT "Sugar Mama" Gayle has given us this fun sketch to follow...

...PLUS this fabulous photo to use as inspiration...

Well, let me tell ya, since I just received a new package filled with super sweet Sugar Nellie stamps from the Tinkle Bells & Jingle Bells Collections, the only difficult decision was...which stamp to choose!! Very, very tough decision...because I love 'em all!! In the end, I chose" Little Apprentice"...available at Funky Kits.....

Seriously...isn't she just darling?! So...here's the deal...I had just seen a Gina Kay tutorial HERE on making a "Shaker Card"...and thought it would be fun to give it a go...and, while it's true that I had these little gold glass seed beads all over my hands and worktable (hehehe!), it really WAS such fun to make!

I used "traditional" Christmas colors...Stampin' Up cardstock (Garden Green & Cherry Cobbler...my all time fave red!)...and the DPs came from Authentique's "Wonder" collection. I also found some clear plastic at my local craft store...but you could certainly "recycle" plastic packaging. Just be sure to wash it with soapy water to remove the "static cling" before the beads get near the plastic! You want those b-b's a-shakin' not a-stickin'!!

Copics used to color this sweet little darlin'...
  • E21, 00, 000, 0000 (skin)
  • R20 (cheeks)
  • E53, 51, 50, 23, YR20 (hair)
  • G28, 24, 21, 20, 40 (greens)
  • R29, 27, 24, 22, 20 (reds)
  • C1, 0, 000 (white)
  • W1, 00 (shadow)

I also used Nestabilities dies...and the Magnolia Doohickey "Pointsettia" die for that pretty flower. The rose and gold filagree corners came from Wild Orchid Crafts...and the ribbon, pearls, jingle bell, and sentiment are all from my stash! Here's a pic of the inside...

   Here's one last "artsy" view...

Now it's time to pop on over to the Sugar Bowl to drool over the paper deliciousness created by my fellow DT Sweeties. Then...why not pull out your art supplies and get busy creating your own card or paper project for this fortnight's challenge? Who knows...you could be selected to win a fabulous prize from Sugar Nellie. Our prize for this fortnight's Sugar Bowl Challenge is....

  ...your choice of FOUR
Sugar Nellie stamps
(increasing to SIX if we have 100 or more entries!)...

OK...my lovelies...let the craftin' commence! Thank you so much for stopping by...and for your very kind comments that always make me smile!! Sending sweet hugs...until next time....
