Sassy Cheryl has me "In Stitches"!!

Hey sassy friends!! It's Tuesday...and you know what that means, right?! Yep...it's time for another fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog! Once again my talented DT sistah, Jeni, is our hostess!! And has Jeni ever thrown ME for a loop with this week's challenge! You'll know what I mean in a sec! Jeni's "theme" this week is...

Stitching...Real or Faux

Y'know what I wish? I wish I had taken Home Ec. in high school instead of Spanish...because then this challenge would be a breeze for me! But, guess what? I can't work a sewing machine...but I can order food in a Mexican restaurant!! LOL!! Someday, I swear, I will learn to work my new sewing machine! But...not quite yet! I'm keeping it safely sealed in the box! For this little card, though, I decided to do my stitching by hand! hehehe!! And here's what I came up with...

Now...I know that most of you have already gone on vacation! I won't get to go for another several weeks yet...but then my sweet hubby and I are going to Carribbean!! Whoohoooo!! Beach!! Which is why I chose this darling little Sassy Cheryl "beach" image called A Crabby Surprise, available at Sassy Cheryl's Digis.

Here's a list of the Copics I used to color this darlin' little image...

E21, 00, 000: Skin
R20: Cheeks
E55, 53, 51, 50: Hair
R08, 05, 02, 01: Reds
B97, 95, 93, 91: Blues
YR21, Y23, 21, E000: Yellows
BG72, 10, 000: Water

I used Not Quite Navy cardstock from SU...and Nestabilities dies...a little Tumbled Glass distress ink for the sky...and some "Sand" Ultrasoft Flower Soft for the ...you guessed it, sand! I added some raffia and a little flower that I sprayed w/water and scrunched. I kinda like the finished product. Pretty clean and simple...with just a wee bit of crooked hand stitching! (Hey, Jeni didn't say the stitching had to be straight! LOL!)

Alright...now it's time to pop on over to Sassy Chery's Challenge Blog HERE to check out the gorgeous work by Jeni and the rest of Sassy Chery's DT! Then you'll want to pull out your own craft supplies and choose one (or more, if you like) of Sassy Cheryl's images (You can find them at Sassy Cheryl's Digis HERE) and get busy!! Remember to use stitching somewhere on your card - real or faux!! And...remember to link your finished card to this week's challenge...because one lucky participant (selected at random) will win a $5.00 digi credit at Sassy Cheryl's...whoohoo! Let the shopping begin...oops, I mean...let the crafting begin! hehe!

Thanks so much for stopping by...and for your sweet comments!! Have a great week!!

Cute & Cuddly...

Happy Sunday, y'all! Just a quick post, as I am hoping to get some more coloring done in between loads of laundry! I know...I live such a glamorous life, right?! LOL!! I was feeling like making a baby card...so I hope someone I know has a baby pretty soon!! hehehe!! I pulled out some sweet baby boy DPs...and an adorable little Sugar Nellie stamp called Cute and Cuddly available at Funky Kits...and this is what I came up with...

So cute, huh? I love the faces on these cute little animals...especially the giraffe! hehehe!!... I colored these doll babies with Copics...and Prismacolor pencils...

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley...I also used a vintage lace Doohickey Die (from Magnolia). Ribbon & pearls are from my stash...and those gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts!! Look at the daffodil...isn't that spectacular?! Here's one more pic...the artsy fartsy angle...

So that's it for me! Thank you so much for stopping by and for always leaving such nice comments!! Have a great rest of the weekend! Hugs...until next time....

A fun Sassy card!!

Happy Saturday!! I'm so tickled that you've stopped by for a visit!! Thanks so much!!

Well...I've been "retired" for a week and have already sort of been offered a part-time job! We'll see if it pans out! hehehe!! In the meantime, I've been enjoying my new found freedom from work!! I've had lunch with some of my colleagues...and dinner with some other colleagues - both involved adult beverages! And I'm going for yet another "get together" with some more colleagues next week...that one will be a "happy hour"...I keep thinking, I should retire more often! LOL!!

Oh...plus, just yesterday, I had lunch with Charyl Alger...that's right, the very talented "Sassy" Cheryl ...of Sassy Cheryl's Digis!! She's a total hoot...and let me tell ya, she's a little ball of energy! Such a fun time. I'm so delighted that we live in the same town! Maybe some of her "artsy" talent will rub off on me!! Well...I can hope, right?!!

OK...on to my card...I decided that I wanted to make some thank you cards...so this is the first of several!!

This little cutie came from Sassy Cheryl's Digis...named Dance Partners. I had such fun with this image...just makes me smile!! I used some new DPs from My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Collection. Very pastel ... peachy pinks and greens.

I used Stampin' Up cardstock (Blushing Bride & Sage Shadow). Here's a peek at the inside (there's a little pocket in the top... perfect for a gift card!) ...

Pearls are MS and the ribbon is from SU (Very Vanilla)...and those gorgeous roses are from (of course) Wild Orchid Crafts! ...

I thought I'd enter this little card into the following challenges...

CLP (sketch)
Challenge #29 @ Wild Orchid Crafts

Wish me luck! That's it for me...am off to color! I love Saturdays!! Hugs to you all...until next time...

Sugar Bowl #65 - Color me blue...

Hi friends...well...vacay is over (for some of us...not me, tho! hehehe!) and it's time for another fun challenge over at the Sugar Bowl! Our very own talented DT sister, Maria Therese, has given us this delightful sketch to follow...
...with "blue" as our color palette!! So...I pulled out one of my new fave Sugar Nellie "Sherbet Pips" (available at Funky Kits HERE) ...and put together this little card!

Seriously...isn't she just  the CUTEST?!!! Her name is Dolly Pip...and believe me when I tell ya, she was pure joy to color!! That hair is something else!! And...those feet! They're HUGE!! (I seem to be drawn to images with big feet! My sister, Dee, and  I both wear size 11!! LOL!) Here's a close up of Dolly...

I have to admit, I didn't keep track of the Copics I used for this darlin'...because I used about a kabillion trying to get just the right shade of blue...and to get her hair the way I liked it! I used Very Vanilla cardstock (from Stampin' Up)...and the rest of the papers are DPs from Kaiser Craft's "Tea at Elsie's" Collection!! These DPs are soooo pretty that I think I own like FOUR 6" x 6" pads of it! hehehe!! I used one of Marianne's dies...and a dotted swiss embossing folder (by Cuttlebug). Ribbon and pearls are from my stash. Here's one more...

I applied some Glossy Accents to her shoes...and those gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, of course. I have boxes and boxes of flowers from WOC! I really must get better organized...so I can place another order and stock up on some of the yummy fall shades! LOL!!

So...you know what comes next, right? Of course you do!! It's time to pop on over to the Sugar Bowl and take a few moments to drool over the gorgeous creations by my fellow DT Sweeties. Then...pull out your art supplies and get busy creating your own card or paper project for this fortnight's challenge. Who knows...you may just be selected to win a fabulous prize from Sugar Nellie.

Our prize for this challenge is....

your choice of FOUR Sugar Nellie stamps
(increasing to SIX if we have 100+ entries!)...

So...what'cha waitin' for? Let the craftin' commence!! hehehe!! Thank you so much for stopping by...and for your kind comments that always make me smile!! Sending sweet sugary hugs...until next time....

Just married...almost!

Whooohooo! It's Thursday...and it's time for another fun challenge at Mo's Challenge Blog!! Our sweet and crazy talented DT sistah, Debbie, is our hostess again this week. Debbie's decided that we should make...

...anything BUT a card!

Now I will admit, I am mostly a cardmaking mama, so this was a bit of a challenge for me...hence the name "challenge," right?!! Well, I'd been thinking about making a little something special for my nephew, Tony (Dee's son), and his "bride to be"...so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!! I chose the cutest little "wedding couple"...called Bethy's Wedding (you can find her HERE at Mo's online store) and the rest just sort of fell together! So...what'cha think?

Honestly, have you ever seen such a cute image? ! (I know, I say that every Thursday, don't I?! Well...it's true!!) Bethy and her "fella" are pretty non-traditional...which is exactly what I was going for!! Something fun and unique!! Here's another view...

I used a little shadowbox frame that I picked up at my local craft store (Michael's)...and used some fun new DPs from Bo Bunny's "Welcome Home" collection. I'm not sure if it shows here...but there's a little picket fence at the bottom!! This is just the cutest paper! I love it! Oh...and it's perfect because Stephanie (Tony's fiancee) chose green and blue for her bridesmaids' dresses! I added some lace...and a fun bow (made w/ribbon from Stampin' Up). Then I added some yummilicious flowers and two metal filagree corners from Wild Orchid Crafts. Pearls and the sheer ribbon on the outside of the frame are from my stash.

 I used the following Copics:
Skin: E21, 00, 000, 0000
Cheeks: R20
Bethy's hair:  E53, 51, 50, YR20
"Groom's" hair: E25, 23, 21, 13, YR20
Greens: G24, 21, 20
Aquas: BG72, 11, 10, 000, 0000
Blue shorts & shoes: B95, 93, 91
Wagon: R27, 24, 22, 20 w/a little N1 at the edges to darken the red a bit
Pink flower in Bethy's hairL R85, 83, RV10
Greys/blacks: C7, 5, 3, 2, 1, 00

Look at that, no "artsy" pic on this one. Sorry to disappoint!! I know how much you look forward to that. Well...maybe next time! hehehe!

So that's it for me, kids. Be sure you stop by Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog and take a peek at what Debbie and the rest of my talented Design Teamies have created to inspire you. Then get crackin' on your own little masterpiece using one (or more) Mo Manning image (you can find lots and lots of fun images at Mo's online store HERE and HERE). Remember to follow Debbie's theme...

...anything BUT a card!!

One lucky participant (chosen at random) will win her choice of one of Mo's digi images! And that lucky person could be YOU!! Whooohooo!

Thank you so much for stopping by...and a special thanks for your kind comments. They really do make my day. Sending hugs...until next time...

Cute as a bug...a "Sassy" bug, that is!

Happy Tuesday, my "sassy" friends!! Hope you had a great week...and are looking forward to another fun challenge at Sassy Cheryl's! And, for those of my sweet and sassy friends who haven't yet played in Sassy Cheryl's Challenge...whatcha waitin' for? It's such fun! And Cheryl has some of the cutest images...check 'em out HERE. I promise you, you won't be disappointed!

So...once again, this week's "hostess with the mostest" is my talented, Design Teamie, Jeni!! Jeni's theme for this week's challenge is...

What's buggin' you?

Isn't that such fun? And, believe me what I tell ya, Sassy Cheryl has lots of adorable images that are just perfect for this week's challenge!!

Now...I've always loved ladybugs...so, of course, I just had to get "Ladybug Follow the Leader"  from Sassy Cheryl's Digis for my card this week! Talk about whimsical! hehehe!! And, I took "whimsical" to a whole new level...that's right...to the "hot pink and lime green ladybug" level!! LOL! What'cha think?

I rummaged through my "scrap box" for some funky DPs that I thought would be perfect for this funky little card!! I used my Martha Stewart ladybug punch to jazz up some of the edges...and added some fun flowers, ribbon, ruffles, and pink diamonds (all from my stash!!).

I sort of went nuts with my camera!! hehehe!!

The sentiments (inside and out) are from Stampin' Up. I added some pockets...one for a little notecard...and another that would be perfect for a little "gift card"!

Here's a list of the Copics I used to color this little darlin'...

E21, 00, 000: Skin
R20: Cheeks
E25, 23, 21: Hair
RV04, 02, 00, 10: Pinks
YG05, 03, 01, 00: Greens
C7, 5, 4, 3, 1: Shoes
E43, 42, 40: Ricks
BG72, 10, 02, 00, 000, 0000: Water

And here's one last photo...that's right...you know you've been waiting for it...

the "artsy fartsy" view...

And, one more for good measure...

OK kiddos, you know what comes next! Yep, it's time to pop on over to Sassy Chery's Challenge Blog HERE to check out the gorgeous work by Jeni and the rest of my delightfully talented DT sistahs!! Then pull out your own craft supplies and choose one (or more, if you like) of Sassy Cheryl's images (You can find them at Sassy Cheryl's Digis HERE) and get busy creating your own paper masterpiece using Jeni's theme for this week...

What's buggin you?

Have fun!! ...and thanks so much for stopping by for a visit. Until next time...

Remember black & white photos?

Well...I know I'm old enough to remember black & white TV shows...and photos!! And for this month's Color Challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog, we're all about black & white (or monochrome)! That's right...our very own clever and talented DT sister, Maria, has challenged us to create a paper project using Black & White (or monochrome) as our colors! Well, to be perfectly accurate, I think black & white are actually "shades" rather than colors...but you get the idea, right? Here's a fun photo that Maria chose depicting her Black & White theme...

I don't know about you, but this photo made me think of traveling...and the black & white photos of my youth! So, with that in mind, here's what I came up with for this month's color challenge....

Doesn't Tilda look so sweet just sitting ever so patiently on her suitcase? She's called Traveling Tilda and is from the Bon Voyage Collection 2010Suitcase with sign is from the same collection. You can find both of these adorable stamps at Diana's Magnolia-licious online store, my store for all things Magnolia!!

Here's a peek at the inside...

Cardstock is Very Vanilla & Basic Black (Stampin' Up)...and the DPs are also from SU! Oh...and the sentiment is from a SU collection called "Full of Life". The flower came from Recollections' "Boutique Fleur" collection (I found these at Michael's). I used Cuttlebug embossing folders (Textile and Swiss Dots)...and I made the "photo" corners with a Fiskars scissors called "Seagull". The ribbons and black pearls are from my stash.

Here's my famous "artsy fartsy" view...

I tell ya, coloring grey skin is a little creepy to me...I had to keep reminding myself that this is a black & white photo!! hehehe!! Here's the very short list of Copics used...

C1, 0, 00: skin
C2: cheeks
Everything else was colored with combo of C7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, & 00

OK...you know what comes next, right? It's time for you to pop on over to Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and see what Maria and the rest of my amazingly talented Design Teamies have created for inspiration. Then...you'll want to join in the fun by making and entering your own Magnolia Black & White (or monochrome) creation into this month's Magnolia-licious Color Challenge. Remember, one lucky participant (selected at random) wins a $25.00 gift voucher for a Magnolia-licious Shopping Spree!! Who knows...you could just be that lucky person!!

Oh...and I've decided to enter this little card into Challenge #118 at Just Magnolia Challenge Blog HERE. The theme is "Anything Goes". I think this fits! Wish me luck! hehehe!

OK...that's it for me!! Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit...and for always leaving such kind comments. They truly make my day! Maggie hugs...until next time....

Good-bye, Daisy....

Hello again, my Bloggin' Buddies...
Can you believe it...we're already into August!! The weeks seem to be flying by, don't they?? Before I know it, we'll be gearing up for the winter holidays! Oooh...wait...not yet! First I have to go on vacation!! So it's not quite time for Christmas! But it IS time for another fun challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog!! Our hostess this week is our very own delightfully talented DT sistah, Miz Debbie. She'd like for us to make...

an easel card with an animal or bird "somewhere" on the card.

Easy peasy, right?! Especially since Mo has so many images that perfectly fit this challenge! Well...I had no trouble choosing my image for this week's challenge...I chose Bronte's Kisses available HERE at Mo's Digital Pencil. Not only do you get this adorable little Bella & Bronte image, as a bonus you also get 3 perfect sentiments!! Kinda like 4 for the price of one!! I always love a bargain! LOL!!

Sad story...our neighbors' beloved Springer Spaniel, Daisy, passed away a few weeks ago. Daisy was so well loved by all of us in the nrighborhood...especially by our two furbaby boys (Toy Poodles), Fiyero & Cooper. So I thought I'd make a clean and simple little card to give Daisy's "mom and dad". The sentiment (which came with the image) seemed so perfect. Here's a close-up...

I'm not quite sure what's happening to me...another card with ORANGE!!! Yikes!! Well...I kinda thought the blue and orange seemed to work...even though I'm really more of a PINK person than orange!! hehehe!! The blue DPs are from the Enchanted Collection by Imaginisce, and the orange DP is from KI Memories, Princess Collection (I got this from my local craft store). Ribbons and pearls came from my stash...and the gorgeous flowers are from, you guessed it, Wild Orchid Crafts!!

Copic Sketch Markers used to color Bella & Bronte...
E21, 00, 000: Skin
R20: Cheeks
E25, 23, 21, YR21 & 20: Hair
B95, 93, 91, 000: Shorts
YR04, 02, 01, 000: Shirt
R85, 83, 81, RV10, 000: Boots & Collar
C3, 1, 0, 00: Bronte
G21 & 20: Grass
Stampin' Up Bashful Blue Stamp Pad: Sky

So...that's it for me! But be sure to stop by Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog and take a peek at all of the amaaaaazing creations by my very talented DT sistahs! Then pull out your own crafting supplies and choose one (or more if you like) of Mo Manning's images available HERE and HERE...and get started on your very own easel card with an animal or bird. Remember to link your project to Mo's Challenge Blog and you may just have your name chosen by the Random.Org thingie to win a FREE Mo Manning Digital Image of YOUR choice!!!! Whoohoo!! And there are even more new images available...and believe me when I tell ya, they are "must haves"!!

Thanks so much visiting! Have a fantabulous week. Until next time....

Look at me...I'm "sassy"

Hi friends...oooohhh...I'm soooo excited!! Guess what? Sassy Cheryl (of the famed "Sassy Cheryl's Digis") has invited me to join her amazingly talented Design Team...and, of course, I nearly tripped over my tongue saying "YES, YES, YESSSSSSSS!!" So there ya have it...I'm "Sassy"!  (My sweet hubby has always said I was sassy...but that's different!! LOL!) And I'm so honored to be joining the ranks of some of the most talented designers in blogdom! Plus...I soooo love Cheryl's whimsical images!! I know...I'm babbling...on to my first Sassy Cheryl DT project!!

This week's hostess is the very talented, Jeni!! She's chosen a really fun theme for all of us...

"Not your usual fold"

Cool, huh?!! Soooo...here's what I came up with...hope you like it...

I just learned how to make a "Criss Cross" fold card...(Tutorial HERE) so I thought it would be a perfect way to showcase this darling little Sassy Cheryl image called "A Mother's Day Heart (girl)" available HERE at Sassy Cheryl's Digis. Here's a close-up...

Now, I swear, I am NOT an orange person...but I sure seem to be gravitating towards orange DPs lately! LOL!! These DPs are from KI Memories' Princess Collection...and I have to admit, I quite like the pink and orange together!! Actually, the cardstock isn't pink, it's Melon Mambo (from Stampin' Up)...but I thought it played so well off of the orange!! I also added a little Certainly Celery CS (also from SU). I used Oval nestabilities (plain and scalloped) as well as a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the "dotted swiss" design on the inside.

Martha Stewart helped me out with some of her edge and corner punches...and the sentiment came from Stamping Bella. Flowers are a combo of Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts...and the green ric-rac is from my stash.

Copics used to color this cutie patootie are:
E21, 00, 000: Skin
R20: Cheeks
E25, 23, 21, YR20: Hair
YR04, 02, 01, 00, 000: Dress & Hairbows
R85, 83, 81, RV10, 00, 000: Heart
C7, 5, 3, 1, 00: Shoes
G24, 21, 20: Grass

And here's one last photo...the "artsy fartsy" view...

So...I'll bet you can guess what comes next! Yep, it's time to pop on over to Sassy Chery's Challenge Blog HERE to check out all of the gorgeous work by my new DT sistahs!! (I do love the way that sounds!! hehe!) And then, pull out your own craft supplies and choose one (or more, if you like) of Sassy Cheryl's images (You can find them at Sassy Cheryl's Digis HERE) and get busy creating your own paper masterpiece with a "unique" fold!!

Have fun, sweet friends...and thanks so much for stopping by for a visit. Until next time...

Something suh-weet!

Hi suh-weet friends...thanks so much for stopping by for a visit! This week at Mo's Challenge Blog, our uber talented DT sistah, Elaine, is our hostess again...and she's decided that we should use the theme:

Something sweet (as in "food-related")

Seriously...how fun is that?? Plus, as you well know, Mo has about a kabillion images that fit this theme perfectly!!! So...I chose this little Watermelon Girl...have you ever seen such a cute image? ! (I know, I say that about ALL of Mo's images! LOL!) I couldn't wait to color this cutie patootie...and decided that she'd be perfect for this week's challenge at Mo's!!

My sweet and oh so talented friend and DT sistah, Debbie Lanci, made a "criss-cross pocket card" a while back and I decided it was time for me to break out of my comfort zone and try something new. So...that's just what I did! I used Wild Wasabi cardstock from Stampin' Up...and these delicious DPs from...uh oh...I have no idea who makes these DPs. They're from a pad of DPs and, when I saw them weeks and weeks ago, I pulled them out and set them aside for this little image. And, now I haven't a clue who makes them! Sorry about that! ugh!! I do remember that the peachy pink cardstock is from DCWV's Pastel Pack. Here's a close-up of this adorable little Watermelon Girl.

 I used the following Copics:
Skin: E21, 00, 000, 0000
Cheeks: R20
Hair: E19, 15, 11, 23, YR21, 20
Watermelon: G28, 24, 21, 40 (I lost my G20...ugh!) and YG11
Peachy-pink: R20, 01, 00, RV10, 000
White dress: C1 & 000
Shadow: W1, 00

Look at that, I just slipped in the "artsy" pic without warning you! Were you so surprised?! hehehe! Well...here's another one for good measure...

And here's a photo of the card with the inside popped out a bit so you can see it. This is such a fun sentiment for this challenge, don'tcha think? I found it at Stamping Bella!! The scroll thingie around the sentiment is a stamp from Stampin' Up (it's called "Elizabeth")...the ink is Wild Wasabi. These gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts...the leaves are from Marianne Createables...and that little clip and ribbon are from my stash. Ooohhh...almost forgot...the lace edging is made with  Doohickey die from Magnolia.

So that's it for me, kids. Be sure you stop by Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog and take a peek at what Elaine and the rest of my talented Teamies have created to inspire you. Then get crackin' on your own little masterpiece using one (or more) Mo Manning image (you can find lots and lots of fun images at Mo's online store HERE and HERE). Remember to follow Elaine's fun theme: Something Sweet (don't forget...it has to be food related!). One lucky participant (chosen at random) will win her choice of one of Mo's digi images! And that lucky person could be YOU!! Whooohooo!

Thank you so much for stopping by...and a special thanks for your kind comments. They really do make my day. Sending hugs...until next time...
