Wynken, Blyken, & Nod

Hello sweet friends...and Happy Thursday!! I have the sweetest little card for this week's challenge at Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog! This week's challenge theme is . . .

Anything Goes!

Once again, my sweet and talented DT sister, Iulia, has given us a lovely "Optional" sketch! However, since this little card is a commission for very special lady in the UK, I decided to forego this week's optional sketch! (Sorry Iulia, next time . . . I promise!)

Now, this card requires a little background info . . . so bear with me. The story is a delightful one, I swear!! So . . . there is a lovely lady in the UK who is expecting a new baby boy quite soon. For her husband's birthday in April, she wanted to give him a card from their baby! (Don'tcha just love that?!)

Now, it seems that her husband is one of three boys . . . and, when they were growing up, their mother read "Wynken, Blyken, & Nod" to them at bedtime. Sadly, his mother passed away a year ago. So this is a little something to honor her husband's mother, celebrate their new baby, and celebrate her husband's birthday! I have to tell ya, I feel truly honored to be able to  play a small part in this family's story!! Here's a close-up of Mo Manning's version of Wynken, Blynken, & Nod . . .

I'd like to thank Mo for giving me the opportunity to work on this fun project . . .  and thanks, too, to my very talented friend, Jak Heath, whose card HERE was an inspiration for this card ! Now, you can find this adorable "Wynken, Blynken, & Nod" image HERE at Mo's online store. Here's a side view . . .

And a close-up of the poem, which I found on the internet . . .
